Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Vedomano These tools were created with efficiency, functionality, ergonomics, and power in mind!
These tools are welcome and powerful additions to my tool chest, and I would have a very difficult time parting with them. Both have a great size and weight to them and work with Milwaukee's M18 batteries... this is great because I have been increasing the number of Milwaukee power tools that I have and the interchangeability with the batteries on all these tools has been a great feature. Furthermore these batteries can easily last all day, and if you are concerned that you've been working all day and might be running low, there is a battery light indicator on the front of the battery. I have heard there are slim-line batteries available, which are a little bit smaller than the regular size batteries that came with the unit, but this is something I need to research further as a possible upgrade to the set.
I will split this review into two parts, one for the Impact Drill, and one for the Impact driver:
The Hammer drill has some great features and let me share some that stood out to me. First of all it has three settings on it, hammer drill (used for concrete,) regular drill, and screwdriver (see photo section.) To compliment these settings is has some strong and durable metal gears inside. The ability to have a cordless hammer drill is awesome because in the past I have had to lug around a corded hammer drill and this has not been convenient or efficient for me. This thing has a torque range of 0 - 525 in-lbs (peak torque) and a speed range of 0-1,700 RPM on the high speed setting and 0-550 RPM on the low speed setting. You are able to control between a high and low gear, right on the top of the unit (see photo section.)
The drill has an actual usable LED light on the front, which comes in handy when I am working in those tight nooks and crannies where light has trouble reaching (see photo section.)
Overall this drill is an excellent quality drill I see myself using for many years. I have worked primarily with other brand name (yellow) drills in the past, and don't get me wrong I have done great work with them, but this drill compares very favorably against my old drill and definitely exceeds functionality in a few areas. I am extremely happy with this purchase. This thing does it all, but you will pay a pretty good price for it. However, I feel if you are willing to put down the money, you will be getting a product that is worth it!
For driving screws into wood, the majority of small jobs I have done have been manually... The difference between driving the screws manually and with this tool is NIGHT AND DAY. This thing will pretty much pay for itself with the time you save...and avoid a lot of aches in your hands/forearms! It's very light weight (around 3 lbs.) The tool has variable speed, depending on how hard you press in the trigger, and can reach peak speed of 2,200 RPM and peak torque of 1,400 in-lbs (it is very powerful!) Another nice feature is the chuck which allows you to switch between bits with one hand (very efficient.) I also find myself utilizing the belt clip, which is very convenient on the side of the handle (see photo.) The LED light is great in this thing...very bright. One of the best tools in my tool chest.
I think the 2-piece tool set is excellent and comes with some seriously powerful and seriously functional tools. I shouldn't forget to mention the carrying bag that comes with this purchase is high quality, spacious (holds both tools, all my bits, both batteries, and the charging station) and very durable (see photo section.) I think any caliber DIY would love this product. Thumbs up!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mastadruma THIS KIT WILL DO EVERY JOB ON YOUR LIST!
My newest review is for the fantastic Milwaukee M18 series Cordless Hammer Drill and Impact Driver Kit.
Let's start with the tote bag. This quality tote bag is strong, waterproof, and bulit to last. The zipper is rugged and strong. Upon opening the zipper, I find the tools. There is plenty of room in the bag for both tools, both batteries, and the charger. I also imagine carrying a drill bit kit and a driver bit kit, as well as some extra add-on's that Milwaukee makes, such as an arbor and extra bits. Plenty of room to fit all you need.
The Hammer Drill: This drill looks like the other standard drill that Milwaukee makes, however, this one has the Hammer function. When engaged, the drill will "HAMMER" the bit as you drive it into you material, whether it be stone, drywall, wood, or steel. The "BANG-BANG-BANG" sound and force behind the drill reallly gets the job done. I used this setting to drill out a hole in my stainless steel sink. There is a built in light for working in tight spaces or darkness. The battery securely "clicks" into place and lasts a long time. The M18 series batteries are interchangeable with the other 40 M18 products too!. GREAT Weight and feel. This drill is balanced and true.
The Impact Drill: This Impact Drill is great for tight spaces. Also good if you are using a lot of "Torque" to get the job done. For instance: Say you are installing a new shed kit for your backyard. The framing for that shed is mostly Aluminum rails and a giant bag of screws or bolts. This impact drill is the perfect tool for that. As you pull the trigger and drive the screw, the drill increases the torque needed to force the screw into the material. Increased torque means less stripping and also means you get the screw driven without accidentally breaking it off or not completing the full depth of the screw. GREAT FOR HIGH TORQUE PROJECTS!
The Batteries: This kit comes with 2 M18 Lithium-Ion Batteries. They are quick charging and give up to 3 hours of continuous power.
Overall, I am incredibly happy with this combo kit. I can't think of ANY jobs that this kit won't do.

I bought the kit with the extra 4.0 battery (and then bought a second one separately) - so two 3.0 and two 4.0's. I've been using the drills quite a bit for almost two months now, and the battery life with the 4.0's is incredible....I was going to buy the 5.0 batteries, but I really can't see a point in doing so with the drills. The drills themselves are very good....only issue I've run into so far was trying to drill a bunch of holes into several inches of concrete - the hammer drill did it, but it took a long time (and a lot of effort) and the drill started to heat up quite a bit. As it's not really designed for that type of heavy duty work, I don't fault these....we bought a heavy duty corded hammer drill and that fared far better. The only real downside (if you can call it a downside) is that the DeWalt lighting setup is better than the Milwaukee....but coming from drills that had no lights on them, I really can't complain too much. They've been dropped (more than once) from 6 to 12 feet in the air, and haven't missed a beat. I love my Milwaukee cordless drills

I have always used milwaukee growing up and still do till this day. When I got these drills I was very excited and couldn't wait to try them out that was 3 years ago and there still as strong as the first day I tried them out. The batteries are great because they last so long I even forget that there cordless when they die out.
Excellent work by milwaukee!

These are my first Li-ion drills, replacing old NiMH. Can't say I'm crazy about the fade-free charging (battery dies without warning), but they certainly do last a lot longer. This is all normal.
What's not normal - on a couple of occasions, after charging one of the batteries to a full green, neither drill will would work with it (pull the trigger and dead). Tried the other battery and both drills worked fine. I stuck the bad battery back on the charger for about three seconds, just to make sure I wasn't going crazy and confirm it was a full charge, put it back on the drill and it was fine. What!?!?? This has happened a couple times now.
I've had the set for shy of a year.

I bought the Milwaukee combo with the free battery. The tools that are in the picture are wrong, but they sent me an updated version,so I wasn't too mad.
