The safest thing would be to use a compact LED bulb. They produce very little heat and zero UV light. Read Less

Answer:
yes you can! you can even use a LED light in the fixture, it will actually extend the life of your lens cover, because you don't have the heat to warp the lens from the 100 watt incandescent bulb.

Hi Joyce,
Yes, this exhaust fan is rated for a 15 amp circuit. Just be sure when you connect this to an existing circuit, that the fan over overload it.

70 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Fan with Light is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from NuTone 70 CFM Ceiling Exhaust Fan & Light The quality is good. Everything fit together as in the illustrations. The instructions were sparse. If the wires off of the female plugs were 2 inches longer the connections would be easier and the wires could be better tucked into position. These are minor issues but they were an annoyance during installation. However, the end product in place and operating was worth the effort. It is a good looking and effective product.

Was thrilled to find that this new fan fit perfectly inside the old enclosure, which eliminated about 90% of the work. Electrical connections plug in and work the same. Even the holes for the single mounting screw matched up! The new fan is strong, reasonably quiet, and although the lens and grille have a different look, the easily-installed cover completely hides the ceiling opening. Most importantly, all the ladies in the house like it! Thanks, NuTone for sticking with a good design and making it easy on us homeowners!

The 769RL his works as a replacement for the old 669LN model originally installed in my building. However, although it says "with light, white grille and bulb", NO bulb was included in the sealed box that was shipped to me. I used the light part from my old 669LN which has a screw in socket. The model shown uses an unusual four prong (I think) fluroescent bulb. I am happy having a standard bulb socket. I gave it three stars because the light bulb was missing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ugly, but works well. This industrial-looking fan fit the existing 15-year old NuTone fan housing that was already bolted into my ceiling. I cannot express how much I appreciate the fact that NuTone hasn't changed internal components in 15 years. This made replacement of the fan and light fixture a 5 minute job. Also, I appreciate the fact that the light fixture in this fan uses the standard e26/A19 light bulb. A few other fixtures require special $10 bulbs with obscure bases.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from bright and clean look, kinda loud It's hard to decide on a bathroom vent fan based on 'numbers' on a box. Sadly, this is much louder than I would have expected. Considering this is a guest bathroom not used often, we are going to keep the unit, but I really think it's too loud. As far as the light, it's nice and bright and I assume the vent is doing it's job correctly as the bathroom doesn't get fogged up as I would expect without the fan on.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid ceiling fan. This ceiling fan was relatively easy to install due to the fact that the connections closely resembled my old one. Very effective since it clears the air of odor in minutes. It also looks really good and the light is not too bright. Had a little trouble understanding the wiring diagram but ultimately figured it out.

It was relatively easy to install and surprisingly efficient. It was so quite I didn't think it was going to really move much air but we were pleasantly surprised. The mirror didn't even fog up after our teenagers' lengthy shower.
