This is a nice and handy all in one kit if you don't have a lot of soldering work to do. It's perfect for small jobs like repairs, replacing a section of pipe, etc. It's a good idea to keep one of these handy around the house in case your copper pipes run into a problem and you have to make a quick or emergency repair. When I do a small plumbing repair for someone in my family or a friend I pick up one of these kits, use what I need and leave the rest with them. It comes with a sanding screen, brush for flux, flux and lead free solder.

Super kit as a whole, this flux with a clean pipe situation worked well like all others But says water soluble so it is good for getting out of the way inside of the pipes. The Solder, I did not notice any difference, I use MAP gas when I sweat pipes together and it did wipe up clean as a shiny silver coin. Out of eight fittings times 2 no leaks on the hot water heater installation on Dads place, new solder with the lead free Dad said it was a must. This worked very well. Worth it, 5 STARS.

While I do seem to be trending away from sweat joints for my plumbing projects, I have quite a stockpile of copper sweat fittings to use up and so still need a supply of solder to make my joints with. This combination of lead free solder and water soluble flux is a good way to go. The flux spreads easily and does wash away immediately when the pipe is flushed and is not greasy as the old flux always was. The solder melts easily and sucks right into the joint just as it should. The abrasive paper in the package is nice just in case you forgot to get a nice big piece but really did not seem to useful to me and the brush is there also if you need it. I seems I always end up using my finger anyway.

Handy kit for DYI or the Pro. A item for the tool box or glove box for the Pro to avoid one of those oh I don't have moments. The kit has everything you need, sans torch, to solder a lot of fittings. The kit even contains a piece of emery cloth or sandcloth. Also consider a heat shield. They are usually black in color
with a couple of grommets at one end and are flame/heat resistant. They are usually 8 1/2 by 12 inches and are placed behind the joint you are soldering.

This solder kit comes with the basics you need to solder copper water pipes. Key to success with this product is proper preparation of the copper pipe. Be sure to thoroughly clean & wire brush the adjoining pieces. Apply a coat of the water based flux to both pieces, assemble and heat with a torch. When the flux starts to bubble, apply the silver solder and allow it to wick into the joint while applying heat. Clean with a damp rag. Avoid movement of the parts while they cool. One kit will do many solder joints.

Purchased this product, I do not sweat solder copper fittings everyday but have done enough to know when something is wrong. Let’s start with the proper preparation of all fitting was done twice; solder would not draw into the fittings just rolled off. Purchased Regular Paste Flux and this worked perfectly. This Water-Soluble Flux is JUNK. Save yourself time and money purchase regular flux!!
