Cyclone 2200 CFM 2-Speed Portable Evaporative Cooler for 500 sq. ft. is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from High dollar cost but it delivers! I have been purchasing Evap. coolers for many years for outdoor comfort during the extreme heat here during the Phoenix summers. Generally, to extend the average lifespan of the sheet metal cooler, can take a lot of maintenance and upkeep. If you don't keep up it'll need replacing. I'm excited about the NON-metal material used for the shell. This should be a long lasting unit with only internal upkeep. I use this when working in my 3 car garage and it does a wonderful job keeping it very comfortable. The price is pretty steep in my opinion but well worth it if you have to work in the heat outside.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Solution for cabin living The port-a-cool 2200 Cyclone was a dream come true. I wanted to leave my doors open since I go in and out all day long with all my outdoor projects. I love that open feeing and I couldn't get that with just any unit. My mom saw this unit displayed in Phoenix Arizona at a Home Depot and since she spends every Mother's Day here in East Texas she thought this was the perfect solution and it was. I was not willing to settle to keep my doors shut just so I could cook, so she found the answer ... The Port-a-Cool that is actually manufactured less than an hour away. She ordered it for me and I went to go pick it up a few weeks ago when it was real muggy here in East Texas and was convinced that this was the answer that I didn't think was possible. Thank you home depot and port-a-cool for the answer and also my mom for making it possible!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Does Not Work Well I live in Dallas, TX where is hot and dry summer. However, this product doesn't work well even thought it's designed for dry hot air. I have thermometer to test the unit for 5 days in my backyard enclosed (three side closed and only back side opened) covered patio with 20ft(w)x10ft(l)x10ft(h). Cost almost $600 after tax and it only cool 4F degree. If you have open porch patio, FORGET IT. I decided to return it and got my money back and purchased a port able LG AC unit. Let see how the LG works. I will come back and review the LG unit after a week of use. If you want the unit to look cool in your back yard and if you don't care to have unit blow on you and your face, it will give you cool air that way BUT it will NOT cool down your backyard patio. It only best use if you have the cooler blow direct on the object. Don't ever true the cool spec from manufacture. The temperature they say will cool down is the the direct cool air blow from the fan, will not cool down the area as what spec said.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2200 Cyclone model I went to Home depot to buy a A/C unit and I found the 2200 I brought home and found that I got a unit that had already been returned. The box had been open, there was no screen on the rear air intake, the cord was loose in the box, I turned the water on and nothing happened, no water flow thru the unit. I like the concept but the unit I got had problems so I brought it back to Home Depot

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Should have looked at another Brand. Even after reading all the reviews, both negative and positive, I made the purchase. 3 weeks after the purchase, the water pump went out. Hopefully, I can get it worked out with the manufacturer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok but service is time consuming This unit replaced a shop cooler on wheels purchased over 12 years ago. It is used in a garage in Phoenix, AZ. It was metal, and I was constantly repairing and patching the box during the last several years of it's life due to corrosion. I purchased this Portacool because of the durable non metal housing, thinking less maintenance. After 3 weeks, the float stuck to floor of the unit and I had to disassemble the cooler to get to the float assembly. No big deal, right, well more work than it had to be but that is because of the way the cooler is engineered. All service starts by removing the grate, 2 water splash strips and then the 3 pads. When it works it's fine, but only time will tell if it was a wise choice. At 111 degrees outside, it puts out 84 degree air out of the exhaust.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CYCLONE 2200 CFM 2-SPEED PORTABLE EVAPORATIVE COOLER FOR 500 SQ. FT. I have used the cooler for 3 different family events outside in the Arizona heat in July/August. It really does provide nice relief from the severe summer heat here. I have used it in an open garage/carport and it has done a very good job of generating cooler air to the environment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Garage Helper! First, it is a swamp cooler, not an AC unit, so don't expect that much cool. But this definitely makes it possible to work in the garage on projects when it is hot here in Central California. Easy to move around, two speeds, and has hose connection or water reservoir to keep the air cooled down. Good purchase!
