Were trying to purchase these for our church. they would be placed in big Garage bays. The garage is 7000 sq ft, but we aren't trying to cool the entire thing. We just don't want to have to open the garage doors, if it's not necessary. There is pllenty of air flow in there.

Answer:
This unit will work inside or outside. It is an electric unit so you do not have to worry about carbon dioxide. This type of cooler is more efficient in a dry climate. It will still work but with less efficiency when it is humid. I use it in Arizona in my shop and on the patio. It does move the air well and provide good circulation.

No, you can use it in any space being a portable swamp cooler. For example in a garage, shop, or stables. You can use it outdoors such as a porch.

Answer:
Yes, but there should be a defined place (window, door, etc.) in which the air from the unit can be exhausted from the area being cooled, and outside air drawn in to prevent the unit from recirculating air that has already been through the cooling process.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by I thought it would be well made....... I live in Arizona home of the dry heat. If you are going to spend any amount of time on the patio in the summer you need a cooler. I bought the Port-A-Cool brand hoping it would last many years. The unit lasted about 70 days before the pump developed a problem. The water pump would shut off at random and the pads would dry out. If I switched it off and on it would work for a little bit and then stop pumping. This unit is expensive, $800, but I looked at it as an investment in a tool I would have for a long time. I was able to return the first cooler to Home Depot and swap it for another one. Thank you Home Depot! The new one did not fill properly. It appeared the in line for the water had something blocking the line. The pads in the back do not get fully wet, but it looks like a thick pad so I am guessing it is getting enough water. When the unit works it cools very well. It is a great unit for a patio or shop in a dry climate. The volume of air is very good. It has a two speed blower. It is not made out of metal so it will not rust like metal units. I do not believe it is worth the cost. In hindsight I should have purchased a metal one, for less than half the price, and replaced it when it rusted. October 27, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Tring to Cool Off I bought this in hopes of cooling off a patio that is covered but has no sides. The problem is that it really needs a more confined space in order to make a difference. If you are trying to cool down a space that is enclosed on at least 3 sides I think it's performance would be a lot better. I am keeping it because I do work in my garage on my car and it will help there but I had high pressure misters installed for my patio. July 28, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good cooler Expensive, but I like it. Blows great 2 speeds. Large membrain pads for the water. August 25, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Working well and no issues to get started.Cooling a 32 x 64 shop in Montana. I attached it to a hose for a water source and walked away. It is working at or above expectation August 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ver Good Product Ran right out of the box. Using in a 8,000 sq. foot manufacturing space. Takes the edge off the hot days! July 28, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by one of the best products ease to use, very durable, excellent performance.. June 16, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Cyclone 3200 I read the helpful reviews from others and thought that this would be the best unit for me to use outside and inside of my 2.5 car garage. I live in Dallas Last week before pouring a concrete section, I purchased the Cyclone 3200. Within 90 minutes of use I detected the smell of heated or burning plastic coming from the unit. I though that this was just the break-in period. The next morning I turned the unit on and the blower motor started making a loud groaning noise. I simply had a faulty unit. The Owners Manual had a troubleshooting guide which identified and gave a resolution for the niose that I heard however, I wasn't going to repair a unit less than 24 hours old, so I exchanged the unit at HD. The new unit worked perfect outside and was powerful enough to feel airflow from 10-15' away. The problem was that it was directional. One step to the left or right and I was out of the path of cool air. Also if you look through the louvers, you can observe that the lower half of that large opening is covered or blocked. I suppose this is to keep the blower the most efficient. My thoughts are; this this unit is great if you don't need a wide path of air or if you just want to cool your garage. My dogs were comfortable in the garage with the unit on. I dont think that they like the standard fan anymore. If this is what you were looking for, this may be the unit for you. I want more cfm so I'm ordering the Jetstream 1600. .............I'll write a review on it in a few weeks. June 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keeps you cool on your patio The only complaint i have is the water hose connection. I would have rated it excellent if it sealed better. Other than that it works great! June 9, 2015
