This was an obvious manufacturing defect. It appeared that someone had tried to assemble the bench and botched the job. The wood camelback had twisted-off screws imbedded in the wood at every location. Also, this piece appeared to have been hammered on severely. One of the seat straps was missing. The styrofoam dunnage was broken up into small pieces, and the box was badly battered and taped. I returned the bench to the nearest Home Depot. The returns clerk was very courteous and efficient. She said that she was very embarrassed by her employer when she saw the bench. It appears to me that you have a quality assurance/management problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap made The wood appears to be too laminated and it's not very sturdy. Would not recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product is of very poor quality. The wood is of such poor quality, I decided to replace it with high-quality oak. After weeks of work, I was putting the final touches, when the front-left iron leg snapped off. Now, I’m trying to find a local welder, who can fix it. I have too much invested in it so far to scrap it. I may have to buy another one just to get a replacement leg. Now, I'm thinking of using it only for decoration, due to its questionable structural integrity.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it Although this bench looks nice and appears fairly sturdy, there are a couple of major problems. The first time I ordered this, the seat back was already broken upon arrival, causing me to have to call Home Depot to return the item and re-order. The second bench arrived looking similarly worn from the shipping process (the box was all chewed up) but was actually intact. HOWEVER, we discovered at the end of putting it together that there are no holes in the seat slats where there need to be in order to screw down the seat support bars. We ended up having to drill them ourselves, and being that we are not that handy we managed to drill through the seat slats in two spots. Plus, at least three of the screws provided broke off in the wood when we were screwing them in! The seat looks nice, but the low quality of the hardware and instructions, and the fact that we now have brand new bench with holes in the seat, merit a low rating.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Average Quality, But Good Value At this price point, this bench is obviously not the highest quality bench of this type available, but it is a good value, especially if intended for occasional use. Other reviewers have complained about the sturdiness, but I see no issue with it in that regard for this 185-pounder and a quest sitting simultaneously. In short, the bench is fairly attractive and performs its intended purpose well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing! I received this bench as a gift in honor of my late mother, that always used to love her garden. My friends even had a little plaque engraved with her name on it that I put on the back of it. I made a little sitting area complete with a fire pit and put my bench there. It has only been a year and the other day my dogs knocked it over and the legs broke off! I'm so disappointed! At least no one was sitting in it when the legs broke off! I would expect better quality from Home Depot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a sturdy, attractive bench I ordered two of these. One unit was in good shape and contained all the requisite parts. The other was in bad shape: no hardware and badly damaged slats. I suspect the box came apart in shipping and was never fully or properly put back together. I returned it to my local Home Depot and easily obtained a refund. The unit I kept is quite sturdy. The ends are heavy cast iron with sort of copper highlights and the slats are well finished wood. It looks quite attractive in our garden area. It was fairly easy to assemble although better to have two people involved if possible.
