Product Overview

A strong railing design begins with the post support - a key area in providing a safe and stable railing system. Our Aluminum Corner Post is firmly anchored to deck surfaces with a sturdy, attractive 4 x 4 base support. Unlike flat base plates, the die cast base of our end post provides a complete four-sided support to the 2 x 2 post and overall stability to your railing system. The Aluminum Corner Post is a fundamental part of the Peak Aluminum Railing - an attractive, durable and low-maintenance railing system. While other railings may warp, rot or decay, Peak Aluminum Railing stays strong for years thanks to its superior protection and lasting beauty.

Customer Questions & Answers

Do you have a post for angles in the railing? I have a 45 degree angle in my deck which would require a 135 degree angle corner post?

Do you make anything like that, or what would you recommend?
Asked by: Zach
Hi Zach! Thanks very much for your message. we have a bracket called a universal connector that will achieve horizontal angels other than 90 degrees. A link to this bracket is here: (shown in black, also available in white). You would use this on the back of an end post, or use a stair post with brackets on both sides for a more symmetrical look. I hope this is helpful, but if you have any additional questions please call us toll free at 877-883-7325.

Is there a document with detailed dimensions of the post including how far in the rail goes into post? Thank you.

Asked by: Crista
Hi Crista, The railing goes in to the post and stops where the post column begins, apx. 1-3/4".

what size screws should be used to install on concrete

Asked by: jack
Hi Jack. For concrete installation, we would recommend you use "tapcon" or "redhead" screws that are at least 4" by 1/3" thick. If you decide to use “tapcon” screws, “redhead” screws, or anchor bolts, we recommend that you consult with a local engineer to ensure the fasteners you select will provide the necessary strength to meet your local building codes.

4-1/2 in. x 4-1/2 in. x 42 in. White Aluminum 90-Degree Corner Post is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best customer service ever Just finished 12x16 deck, happy I found Peak Railing on Home Depot .com. Good price, easy to install, looks like a professional install. Best of all, one of the post I received was damaged due to poor packing. I went on Peaks web page, filled out contact form. They called me next day and sent out replacement overnight express. Peak called back again to make sure I received the new post and if it was in good condition. In this day and age you just don't find that good customer service. A big thanks to the folks at Peak, great product, best customer service ever! I'm happy, happy, happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Choice As a contractor this product was easy to install, sturdy and nicely detailed. It is a good alternative to having a fabricator custom build the railing. A decent low budget solution. A bit more labor than pre-built panels but easy enough. One caution - don't lose any screws it doesn't come with any extras. Best to have it delivered to store to pick up at your convenience. Had to block out a two hour window and they showed up with a 40' semi for a 90 lb. package. The driver was very courteous, professional and made it within the two hour window.
