A squirrel managed to pull one of the fine suspension springs and completely destroy it. I need a new spring. I guess the feeder is not squirrel proof.

Answer:
I was using a very small bungee cord to replace one of my broken springs. Squirrel ate through it so I just replaced the entire feeder for $39.00 dollars via Home Depot. Best price I could find. I like the feeder so it was worth the purchase

Answer:
do you know who the manufacturer is? I would try them first. Otherwise take it to a hardware store that has good customer service and someone might help you find something to make it work.

Squirrel-Be-Gone Triple-Tube Bird Feeder is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 68.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from mixed bag I bought two of these feeders, you have to stay on top of the springs as they get stuck on the metal (due to persistent squirrel attacks) The system does a great job shutting out the squirrels from the opening where the seed is available, but with the weight of the squirrels hanging on the system they were still able to eat through the plastic at the very base and create their own permanent openings. Not a bad system but needs some work. I still have one hanging out back after one full year and it is holding up well [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid and so far, good deterrent against squirrels Have only had my feeder up one week - so far so good on squirrel deterrent. Strongly advise hanging on a strong metal shepherd's hook type pole, away from things that squirrels can jump from. Also, use coconut oil or similar substance on the pole to keep the squirrels off. However, the lubricant will weaken and the critters will get on the feeder. Given the capacity, the feeder doesn't require frequent refilling - the avian critters love it. This product is very sturdy and durable and hopefully will last for years. I previously had the smaller single tube squirrel-b-gone feeders and they lasted many years. I decided to purchase the larger ones to attract more birds and fill less often and these have accomplished that! So far so good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Started out good.... I bought this 3 weeks ago and was so happy with it, initially the squirrels couldn't get at the seeds, now they have chewed through the plastic ports and ruined the springs, seed is pouring through a hole in one of the sides... Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best bird feeder ever. Only issue with this feeder is the springs that hold the items that block the feeder holes when a squirrel gets on the feeder wear out over time. Takes a few years so it is expected. Excellent bird feeder
