Customer Questions & Answers

is the f17t8/cw/k24 a replacement for the f18t8/cw/k24 even though it is 1w off??

Asked by: Larry
Our lamp is the F15T8 product. The other two lamps in this description seems to be OSI or someone else. It could be the similar for all three products but you should check with the ballast manufacturer or label to see which lamps work on that ballast. More than likely our lamp will work but will probably provide less light than the other two lamps listed.

Customer Reviews

2 ft. T8 15-Watt Cool White (4100K) Linear Fluorescent Light Bulb is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 24 inch Flourescent is hard to find. I checked and called everywhere and found The Home Depot had this T8, 24 inch, 15 watt, T8 Linear Flourescent Bulb. There was only one box of 6 on the shelf, which is what I needed. It gives good light, but I wish it came in "Daylight." Of course, I'm glad I was able to find it to replace the bulbs in the fixture in my bathroom. It was a bargain. Please don't discontinue carrying this bulb. THANKS, HOME DEPOT!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I replace with a LED I was replacing four of these every six months in our 6' x 6' home laundry room at approx $9/bulb = $72/year, for several years. I replaced the fixture with a 15" LED Round Flat Panel that draws 22.5 Watts (as opposed to 4X15 Watts = 60 Watts drawn by these fluorescents). The fluorescents were advertised to have 4x1,175=4700 Lumens, while the LED advertised 1650 Lumens. My luxmeter (a free app by Galactica that runs on my iPhone and whose accuracy I verified by an independent test) showed that the LED fixture had approximately two times the lux value on readings at 4 different locations (4 direct, 4 reflected). The Color Rendering Index of the LED is also much more appropriate for a laundry room. It is my opinion, but I can't prove it, that although the fluorescents may start out at their stated lumen value, they quickly deteriorate. I would enjoy hearing of an experiment on that. I freely admit that my fluorescent fixture may be at fault, although I have no specific reason to believe that. I am not saying that all of these bulbs are all bad; I am just stating my experience and my opinion.
