I purchased these bulbs to replace some very expensive compact florecent globe bulbs that did not last as expected. I needed something that looked decent exposed in a bathroom vanity light and a ceiling fan and these look okay. The light is bright, white and better then what I was getting from other bulbs that claimed the same qualities, cost more, and didn't deliver. I am very happy with these bulbs and will buy more.

Will fit where normal incandescent bulbs did with real energy savings. I have one right above me I like the light but in the winter I do miss the incandescent bulbs heat. I will buy more of these, I will not buy a compact florescent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mikeh Excellent for kitchens and bathrooms
I purchased a lot ( about 11 ) of these bulbs to put into both my bathrooms' fixtures above the mirrors and also in the main fixture in my kitchen. Very pleased with the bright, but not too bright 3000K color which is a brighter than standard incandescent at 2700K color, but not extreme like 4000-5000K bulbs. These bulbs are also smaller and not as heavy as some of the other 60 watt LED bulbs I've seen and tried ( except for maybe the new flat 60W LED bulb's from Philips which is lighter in weight ) The only con with this bulb I think is that it is not dimmable, but that's fine for the bathrooms and kitchen where I have no plans to put in dimmer switches.

totally pleased with this bulb. They say it is a 60 watt replacement and I find it is all of that. The color is very white probably best described as daylight. Not 'cool' (bluish). Not 'warm' (yellowish). This white makes it look all the brighter. I have installed one outside on the porch next to a CFL and there is no contest - the LED is whiter and brighter. Cold weather does not seem to effect it at all.
Only warning: The lower half of the bulb is a reflector. It only projects from the base out. If you put it in a table lamp with the base down you will light up the lampshade, and the ceiling but not table below. Best for base up or horizontal installation. Also note that they are not dimable.

I bought this type (LED) for the higher efficiency ( vs. CFL) but this bulb also has a nice color to be somewhat whiter than a 60W incandescent. Moreover, this lightbulb delivers on lumens and doesn't give more than moderate heat. Facing downwards from an open ceiling fixture, the output is nicely spread around the room and gradually falls off towards the top base side, as expected. In a shaded lamp facing upwards, it still looks more distributed than you'd might think and the table portion remains well lit enough to read by. One could hardly tell that it's not an incandescent. Excellent bulb and likely to decrease in price now that more competitors are becoming suppliers.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Evan13 Great, but not for a dimmer
I have at six of these bulbs on normal switches in my house. They are great. But I just bought (and returned) three because I set them up on a dimmer switch and they made loud humming noises. I bought a Lutron dimmer switch that is rated for LEDs, but the bulbs still made noise. I then tried Cree's 60w replacement LED with the metal base and there was no humming. I really like Phillips LED bulbs for their design and build quality and will try them again in the future, but Cree got it right for dimmers.

So far, loving these bulbs. They're very bright, and not as directional as I had feared. Though they're not the best for bathroom lighting (I put 2 in a fixture and made the 3rd a CFL to illuminate the rest of the room), they're great for ceiling fans in which the fixture already points the light around the room. They're still a bit pricey, but as long as they'll last you 6-10 years, they should most definitely be worth it.
PS - Clip the barcodes off for future reference in case you need it for warranty. I threw away the box before doing this, so I hope they really do last as long as they say.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RGTX We are VERY pleased with these bulbs.
We have placed these bulbs throughout our home and are VERY please with them. They are in various types of fixtures with some installed normally, some installed upside down and some installed sideways. They come on instantly and work great. What we like BEST about this bulb is that it produces light at 3000K. For some reason, we find mostly 2700K and 5000K LED bulbs at the stores but not very many of the 3000K type. Once you try 3000K, you will never want to go back to the yellowish 2700K. Thank you, HD, for keeping these bulbs available.
