Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ocotillo not as expected
face of the lamp is textured; which is different from most LED retrofits, that are plain white.
Since i had already installed plain white throughout my house, these different glass face did not look right in my situation. they would be fine if you used only this style together and not mixed the face style.
noting at all wrong with the light; just a different face i wa snot expecting.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Donna Excellent and easy to replace old canned lights with Energy-saving LEDs
I bought 9 of these off the clearance table at our local Home Depot. I wasn't sure they would work for us, but the associate told me they were good and if they didn't work I could bring them back. They fit perfectly in the holes from our old fluorescent canned lights (6in). They fit in well and quickly by way of tension, they look great, and the 'soft white' is nice and bright. If they truly last anywhere near 35 years, and save us money along the way, costing barely over $1.00/ year vs $7.00/ year for fluorescent, then I will be thrilled. The whole retrofit set cost about the same as replacing a single LED floodlight into the old can. If this kit fits in your ceiling, then you'll be happy with them!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Granma I am impressed, mostly.
My entire kitchen had old recessed lights. I looked into several options, from changing them to pendant lights on part, and several other things.
I had switched all the bulbs in the house to florescent bulbs and that made the recessed lights worse.
Switching to the LED lights made the whole room bright, with a nice effect. They are not over-bright, but are wonderfully light.
The housings were pretty loose on my ceilings, as I think the ones I replaced were an industrial version. I added some caulk around the openings and let it dry. I then replaced the LED fixtures and they looked perfect.
I did not think LED lights were an option for me in the kitchen, because I had 10 to replace. The special Home Depot had on them was a welcome relief to the regular price.
I am very pleased with these lights.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rwbinder Good sale on energy efficient lighting!
The light is sufficient and pleasant, and if they last as long and use as little power as predicted, they will prove to be a great value. The "screw in" aspect of installation obviously makes it easier than actually having to do wiring. The only problem is that the lip/edge of the lights is narrow and was not wide enough to completely cover the holes in the ceiling from our previoius lights. (They were the size that these are supposed to replace.) Fortunately the lip from our old lights was completely and easily removed (unlike these lights), and could be used with these lights to cover the hole. This worked well, but looks a little bit strange with the double lip/edge on the lights, and allows a bit of light to "escape" around the edge at the ceiling. However, overall we are very pleased.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Matt Poor installation design. Cree is better
Purchased 20 of these for a retrofit. Although the light is nice and bright the installation design is poorly engineered. The tension springs pop off the lights very easily during install and don't hold the light up well enough against the trim ring. I took them all back and got the cree models.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bill Great lighting but a couple issues
The lights were very easy to install and give a lot of warm lighting. A couple issues I encountered:
1) The "trim" rings are pretty small and will cover a can light installed tight with no space. Unfortunately I had a couple of can lights where the hole was slightly larger than the can and the light did not cover the hole completely. I called and asked if there were wider trim rings that could be purchased and was told there were not.
2) I installed a dimmer that was specifically for LED or CFL lighting but when I installed it the lights flashed and I had to put in a regular toggle switch. It could be a dimmer issue but I was very disappointed ( the dimmer cast $30).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gnowner Found this in the store.... $10 cheaper
Light went out over the sink, so I figured it was time to just install and LED. The one I found in store was $10 cheaper, but the specs are the same. The only difference is the warranty. Online it states one year, whereas my box says three years.
It was super easy to install. The trim covered the opening perfectly. The LED is rated at 2700k so it's a nice soft light and matches my other lighting. The only complaint I have is with the trim color. It states white, but in reality it's more of an off white.
