I bought 2-2packs-or 4 bulbs. the light was fine. one of the bulbs blinked on and off-which is disconcerting, - for a couple of weeks, then i heard a loud pop and it was out for good. so success was 3 out of 4. since maintenance has to install these 8 ft. bulbs it's not practical to bring the broken one back. so i'm disappointed. however the failure rate with the GE ones is worse.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SUPER BRIGHT I have used this (6500K DAYLIGHT) model to illuminate my workshop in the garage for years. The temp gets down close to 32 degrees when it's zero or below outside and I have had no problems with them illuminating. If I have the garage open when the temps are below freezing, they may "sputter" a bit when first switched on but that can be expected due to the internal gas temp of the bulb being below freezing. They are quite intense as far as brightness goes. Stay away from the "Cool" or other descriptions of the 5000K or lower models if you want to have the best illumination in your shop or basement. Good buy at $15 for a pkg of two!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CHECK THE BOTTOM CONTACTS! I bought this product and installed the bulbs but they did not work. I removed them and checked the contacts to see if there might be a problem and sure enough, one contact on each bulb was pushed in and bent to one side. Apparently the package had been dropped on it's end (not by me) and the contacts were bent and damaged. I don't know if the bulbs don't work because they are damaged internally or if the bent contacts do not make electrical contact in the fixture. Regardless, I will have to return them. Bottom line - check the bottom end of the package and make sure everything looks okay.
