of course you can, but unless you are prepared for all the creepy crawlies that live in firewood...ants, termites, spiders, beetles, etc.....you would be smart not to store your firewood in your basement! This is years of experience speaking.

Upon opening the box, I discovered the fasteners had come loose from their packaging and were scattered around the box, and subsequently my floor. After spending a considerable amount of time finding them, I unwrapped the metal pieces, only to discover the ends packaged underneath cardboard protectors were beginning to rust. It appeared to be only cosmetic surface rust, but it was still concerning. Once I actually set about trying to assemble this, I quickly discovered that none of the holes lined up between the base tubes and the uprights. Thus, I was left with a few metal tubes that I cannot actually use as a log rack, as even in the cases where I could line things up, the included bolts were about 1/4" too short. Quality control is an absolute joke on this product, and I'm lucky that I'll be able to return the other rack to the store.

It was easy to assemble & held quite a bit of wood. Not the whole cord, but we also got a 4 ft wood rack to keep wood on the porch at our cabin. So, between the 2 of them we were able to stack all our wood..

There were no assembly instructions in the package, but it was easy enough to figure out. There were also a couple of nuts and washers missing (the packaging for the small parts was not sealed properly).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 8 FT. HEAVY DUTY FIREWOOD RACK Good price - sturdy product - fast delivery. Only thing wrong, one nut was missing -(out of 12). It think the problem was because the hardware paxkage was opened and some hardware loose.
