We have a 3100 sq ft space. It has a musty odor. I don't know if it's from the old carpet that is being replaced or the mosture in the air. When I come in, in the morning, my paper work feels damp...like a window was opened and it rained. Is this the right size? too small or too big?

Also, what can we use to treat the air so it smells pleasant all the time? How can we remove the musty smell from the air?

Thanks Tracie

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Step on up! This is not your average dehumidifier! No sir, step on up to the professional model! After years of having a damp basement I can say this is the work horse of them all. In a matter of days we went from 77-80 percent humidity in our basement to now 47. This thing keeps on chugging, has a built-in pump which we have a line run to a condensate pump which brings the water up and over a wall to our sump pump. Could not be more pleased with a product unless if started to spit money at me. Buy it, buy it now, and thank yourself and me later. August 23, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Buyer Beware purchased 2 years ago. Started icing up this year called on warranty - 3 year. Told to take into a local shop. Might be low on Freon. No shop will touch it in my area. Asked for additional instructions - like what shops in my area are authorized to service Pridiom. No response. Unit now fails to remove any moisture and never goes below 50 RH even when set at 35. BUYER BEWARE - NO SERVICE GIVES YOU AN EXPENSIVE PAPER WEIGHT! August 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Make sure you get the 3 year waranty Worked great for about 15 months then started leaking... We bought another one and the same thing happen to that one... The one after that, the compressor started leaking oil... We are now going on our 5th one and this last one only lasted about 5 months... We bought this dehumidifier cause of the good reviews and because we were tired of replacing the cheap 300 dollar ones every year or so... Bottom line is that its no better than the cheap dehumidifiers out there... It has nice bells and whistles but its basically junk... You ask why did we keep buying the same one over and over... We didn't, we bought one for 1299.00 and it broke after the one year warranty was up, hope you can figure out the rest... Only reason I am writing this review, is to save other consumers the headaches that come with this very expensive piece of junk... August 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent I really like this dehumidifier, have large bsmt around 2300sqft, I set it at 50 percent humidity, most articles say bsmt should be between 30-50. After using for a couple of days humidity reads 49' I notice the smell is gone and it has a tube to drain the water August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gets the job done Have had about 3 weeks. Put in basement the was damp and musty. Heat and humidity have been high these last couple of weeks. The unit was easy to set up and has changed the environment in the basement to a pleasant one. I chose this model because I did not want to get a cheap one that would not do the job. With the pump and drain I do not have to monitor. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by first purchase from Home Depot The dehumidifier works well and is relatively quiet. The purchase and delivery process from Home Depot worked well. August 12, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by expensive, but works very well This dehumidifier has worked perfectly. Needed in a damp basement, and this cleared the moisture right up. Doesn't use too much power, but really dries the place. Have used regular dehumidifiers, and this one works 5 times better than the cheaper ones. Well worth the money if your current dehumidifier isn't doing enough. April 1, 2014
