Cuts very easy with a hacksaw and a dull blade, which is what I always have.

Product use with 16x16 pavers

I plan to install Home Depot's 16 in. x 16 in. Red Brickface Concrete Step Stone (Model #72661; Internet #100333091); will the Proflex paver edging work well the installation of the16x16 step stone/pavers?
Asked by: Mendy6201
I would use the kit for any walkway. Holds the stone together tightly and creates a nice edge that you can bring soil up to along side the new walkway. Other products seem a lot more expensive and in no way compete with ProFlex.

Always see picture of edging with the spikes tot he outside of the pavers. Anything wrong with doing it the other way, put the spikes on the inside, such that the pavers are on top of spikes? I think it would be a cleaner install, plus I can screen the sand over them and only have them a half inch or so above the ground....so they do not look intrusive.
Asked by: CWJ
With ProFlex you can do it either way, inside or outside. I did inside b/c the added weight of the brick sitting on the rail on the interior creates the most strength to hold everything in place. The spikes included to a fine job to. Follow spacing according to the directions and it will work perfectly.

The ProFlex Edging made it easy to get a professional result with a 90 foot brick walkway using existing, 40 yr old brick. After laying it out, it was simple to establish grade by leveling the edging rails to each other & down the walkway. Once secure is was a breeze to screed the sand off of an establish level guide. Bricks got a tight fit and had a stiff edge to run off of so you can keep it straight. Didn't have curves, but you can with this product too. Lightweight and superior to using metal edging or the typical plastic edging for flower beds. Highly recommend & very high value at a low price. If I was doing this professionally, I would use this every time.

I just had new sod installed around my round paver walkway and the problem I always have is that the grass always grows over them over time and buries them. I used this product to contain pea pebbles around the pavers. I installed the edging and then put strong weed fabric between, securing it with long staples. Then I put the pavers back and put the pebbles down. It was labor intensive but worth it!!

Next we will be tearing up some old ones along the edges and inserting this edging to stabilize them better. We purchased this edging about 2 weeks ago for 6 concrete patios we needed to tear out and replace. We have been busy installing it for the past week. It is very sturdy, easy to cut, the nail tabs section is great as you can line it up and drive the plastic nail to hold it where you want it. One one side we put the tabs toward the bricks and then on the other we put the tabs facing out. We used the plastic nails due to the soil we have here eats up metal, termites eat wood, sun eats the plastic. With the edging and nails being under the dirt when we are completely finished everything should hold up well

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well - great value This product exceeded my expectations. I used two of these kits to install a 50 foot curved walkway in my front yard. I purchased the pavers from a dedicated hardscape yard. The paver seller pushed their edge system as superior to what I could get at a big box store - there edge system was twice as expensive however. I went with this PROFLEX system and it proved quite adequate. I was skeptical of the plastic nails provided with the kit and bought steel spikes in the hardware department to suplement. Turns out the plastic spikes performed better (harder to pull out) than the steel spikes. If I was to do it over again, I would not buy additional steel spikes. For a curved walkway, I might buy additional plastic spikes than are provided in the kit to get the edge to conform to the pavers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Do the job. Edging worked fine. Very ridged construction and heavy duty. Easy to shape after cutting the links. Easyly cut to length with a sawzall. A little tall for my application bc I used reclaimed brick. Be sure you look at the height of you material. Spikes that came with the kit aren't ideal. Smooth spikes don't stay firmly in place when there is 6" of paver base and sand. They stayed down just not tightly to the ground.
