overload indicator

What does that mean when the overload indicator light on red ? Is it coming from pedant lightling? or somewhere else? I had an electrician fixed the pedant lights because the sackets burned out. It turned out worse that the over load indicator on transformer turns red and the three pedant lights are off.

Does this transformer come in a 600 or 1000 watt?

This particular transformer only comes in one size. For higher wattage capacity, you would need to install a remote transformer such as the one shown below. The P8655-01 is actually two 300-watt transformers in one housing. With this type of installation, it would be necessary to split the installations into at least two circuits.

Customer Reviews

Illuma-Flex Brushed Nickel Transformer is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Material and Finish Not as Advertised - False Product Specs Product is listed as being finished in "brushed nickle". Under the material specs it says "metal". The product that arrived is all plastic moldings that have been cheaply painted. The color is an ugly flat grey. Right out of the box there are already areas where the paint is scratched off. Very cheap look and feel. It's made in China and it shows. And all this money for for just a transformer. I'm not allowed to mention the price but just look at the top of the page and think long and hard if you want to spend that much money on something this poor. The other components in the system (track / lights / stanchions / etc.) are similar poor quality. This product is priced far above it's actual quality. Also the product specs say the transformer is good for 300W. However the tags on the transformer say 250W as does the included installation manual. We will not be installing this lighting system, it's going right back and we're searching for a better vendor and product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Horrible Transformer shorts out and like the other reviews I replaced the transformer since the rest of the fixtures are in place. This fixture is over priced and not worth the money

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed This is the 2nd time in 3 yrs this part needed replacement! Not a good track record but we needed to buy it to keep the light fixture as it had been installed and would require an electrician and painter to repair the holes and install a new fixture. I think the price is excessive and the time the part lasts is even more outrageous, not in a good way! In the long run it would cost more to replace but I would not recommend any lighting that requires this part!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Replacement I bought this to replace the transformer on a >15 year old Hampton Bay Flexible Track light system. This is a Progress Lighting product (Progress Lighting P8776-09 250-Watt Flex Track Electronic Transformer, Brushed Nickel). I called Progress Lighting, they told me the Hampton Bay transformer was not their product. However, this fit the track perfectly. I also asked Progress Lighting if it was compatible with LED lights. They were unable to tell me-they did not know. I tried the system with LED bulbs and it did not work. The lights would come on but winked out after a few seconds. Back to halogen. I read some reviews on Amazon about this transformer. Some were not good. I have only had this a short time but it seems to be working well.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two have burned out -- transformer is NOT robust. Look elsewhere. I have already replaced the transformer twice. It's not a high-quality item. Given the cost, I would rather buy something else.
