Customer Questions & Answers

Can this be a container plant? I can't put anything in the ground in my tiny backyard.

Asked by: Trish
Hi Trish, Yes, it can grow in a container. In fact we encourage it. I love this plant! It is a perfect little ball of white color. If you are looking to get a quart please keep in mind that is fairly small (about the size of a wide coffee cup). You might want to plant a few in a container if you are looking full color this year. Otherwise I would recommend a larger size, we also offer these in gallon and 3 gallon sizes. Please let us know if you have any other questions. You can always call our hotline if you need any extra tips of tricks. (734)654-7485 Thank you, Shane Franklin Rogers

How far apart should I plant them if planting in the ground? Is March too soon to plant them in Chicago? I am new to gardening!
Asked by: Chicago
Hi Chicago, Welcome to gardening! For best results, plant the Bobo hydrangea 4-5 feet apart and wait until the ground has warmed up and there is no further threat of frost. For Chicago, that would probably be sometime in May. If you ever have any questions, please give us a call at (734) 654- 7485. Best regards, Fallon

R they deer proof?

Asked by: Rose
Hi Rose, Our Proven Winners Bobo Hydrangea is not listed as deer resistant, so there is a chance deer could eat your Bobo. We do have several plants to choose from that are deer resistant, including our Proven Winners barberries, some of our Proven Winners viburnums, and our Proven Winners hibiscus plants. If you have any other questions, feel free to call us at (734) 654-7485. Thanks, Hailee

Customer Reviews

Bobo Hardy Hydrangea (Paniculata) Live Shrub, White to Pink Flowers, 4.5 in. Qt. is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy Healthy Plant! As I have read from previous reviews the packaging is top notch. My plant was intact, nice and green and the size that I would expect for a quart container. I have had it in the ground for about 3 weeks and it is still nice and green and with some new growth. Proven Winners is the best in everything - plants, packaging, etc. My only hope is that they slow down with all of the new hydrangea introductions as I am running out of room!! I can't wait to see how it does next year and with the cooler weather I am sure it will be able to settle in before winter. Thanks Proven Winners!

Since it's late fall, I won't be able to rate or give an honest recommendation on how this plant will be until spring/summer. However, it did arrive healthy, and looks very well so far after planting it. I am truly amazed at the lightening fast shipping of Home Depot-- it felt like an instant transport straight out of my computer screen. Kinda creepy awesome!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good in a Planter My wife takes care of this, so she pays closer attention to this and she waters it well to keep it going and started. So far, it has maintained its colors and it looks like it is strong. Hopefully, if and when I re-plant this to a remote part of the yard, it iwll still be strong or hardy to withstand some neglect. Otherwise, so far it is hanging in there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plants were small and may not make it Although I knew what size pot these came in, I expected the plants to be larger and more vigorous. The attached photo was taken within a week of planting and they were watered every day and planted in partial shade. They probably won't make it and definitely not worth the money. Very disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good so far The Bobo ColorChoice Hydrangea arrived in great shape -- all the leaves were healthy and attached. The box in which it arrived was sturdy, and did a great job keeping the plant upright. The care instructions are informative and helpful. I planted the hydrangea in mid-August, and, a little over a week later, haven't seen any new growth. That being said, though, the plant is still looking healthy, so I'm not too worried and fully expect it to grown in its own good time. Obviously, I can't speak to the full-grown grown health of the plant since it's only a few weeks old, but I'm excited to see this bad boy once it's full grown at around 30-36" H x 3'4" W.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not survive the summer Bought 2 plants in the spring. Planted according to the directions and watered regularly. Both plants did great through the spring and started to bloom. Once summer started both plants wilted and died. While it has been a warm summer here in Las Vegas, I expected the plants to survive because the growing zone is listed as 6-9. I was really looking forward to the beautiful blooms through the summer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from BoBo Hydrangea For $24 I thought it would be a bigger plant. I planted it so we will see if it comes up in the Spring.
