Answer:
You can do a perfect job and hide every wire or you can cut corners and have wires exposed until you get to an easier spot to run the wire into the attic and wall. It is up to you. My wife is particular so I spent 3/4 of a day running wires.

Hiding the wires outside of the house is another story. If you have aluminum siding you can easily hide the wires outside. If you have brick walls then you might have to mount the wires along bricks which may is not something everyone wants to see. The most difficult install is if you drill into the house at every camera location then you would have to find a way to route the wire all throughout inside the house to the DVR location. Read Less

Answer:
Hi Home Depot customer,
The wiring that is needed if from the camera to the DVR, the camera and DVR to a power source, and also if you are hooking up a monitor to the unit as well. The wiring depends on how far you are installing the camera from the DVR.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good home system Fo the price, this is a great little home security system. The quality is not commercial grade (whatever that means) however I've had it working at a second home for over a year now. I have had some minor issues with the cabling not being shielded well enough to run along AC lines but my expectations for the included cable were pretty low to start with. The cameras are ok quality although the quality on the ones exposed to weather seem to decrease over time. The DVR itself is ok. The software is a little awkward but is functional. The mobile app works fairly well and being able to check my cameras on my phone is invaluable. Setup can be a chore if you're not technically inclined as can running the cables. July 17, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great for the average user the software isn't user friendly in an obvious way but i guess if/when i really need to take a whack at the bells & whistles, i'll refer to the manual. or, i'll call tech support! i had my doubts in this service but since my computer 'lost' the remote viewing site, i had to call for help. i spoke with john-paul & he was my hero!! very friendly, very helpful & knew 'other' things, not just IT support. he helped me troubleshoot & diagnose a hardware problem, too!! i wasn't told to call another number or put on hold for a different department. he answered every question as quick as i posed them! GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! THANK YOU!! August 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EXCELLENT SYSTEM AND CUSTOMER SERVICE I've had this system for a 1 year now and it works flawlessly.. Excellent picture in all cameras .Easy to use play back and if you have any problems , customers service will walk you through ... I read the reviews on a lot of systems and I choose this one because of the customer service which I and my installer had to use 5 times so far and was very happy to have ... June 24, 2015
