Answer:
Yes. Grasp the ears on the element with your finger tips and pull the filter off the white center stud. The end cap of the element is soft foam rubber and the hole in it stretches over the white center stud to hold the element in place.

Answer:
Sitka spruce needles, cone scales and even cones were easily sucked up when I used the 6 gal version. Larger cones and big wads of wet scales can clog the hose at the 90 degree bend at the vac but unclogging takes seconds.

Answer:
Do not recommend a vacuum for pine needles. Typically the needles are too long and clog up the hose on any vacuum. Better to sweep or blow needles.

Thank you for contacting RIDGID® Customer Support.
The vac can be used for picking up pine needles by using the VF5000 or VF6000 filters sold at Home Depot stores. We highly recommend checking the filter more often to make sure it is not sustaining any damage especially during use.

Answer:
Clean the filter, check the tubes and attachments for blockages. Make sure the floor attachment(s) fits flush to the surface being cleaned to create a tight seal, these should all solve the issue, if not, contact Rigid for advice, your machine may need professional assistance.

1 – The pleated paper filter should be removed when using the vac for large amounts of water pick ups. Once the filter gets saturated, it affects the suction power of the vacuum.
2 – The hose may have holes or could be clogged – you should check the condition of your hose and clean or replace if necessary. Please try to run the vac with and without the hose connected for you to check any difference on the vacuum’s performance.
3 - The float (which is the device inside the filter cage beneath the filter) could be stuck in the upward position. Check the float - it should be moving freely.
4 – The drum is not secure to the power head. You should check to insure that the drum is properly secured to the power head. The switch on top and the RIDGID sticker on the drum should be on the same side.
If the above recommendations do not solve your problem, please contact us and we can attempt to troubleshoot the vacuum with you.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Has been a reliable wet-dry vac for me I've owned this for a little over a year and I've been happy with it. I work on my car in the garage very often and this as been my main vac. I've been happy with it and can honestly say the suction power is plenty for my needs. Though, if you're doing heavy-duty work you may want to upgrade to a more power model. My only complaint is that the lid has popped off a few times while moving it around causing dust and debris to fly around. I wish it would stay on better! March 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good purchase I bought this Vac for a spare, but now use it all the time. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shop Vac Review This vac has been easy to use and lightweight. So far have only used it on dry surfaces. July 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Price/Quality I bought this just for renovation and ended using it as my regular vaccum. Is 10X time better than my Dyson, is also 1/5 the price. It work very very well. April 6, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by vacuum The clips hold the top on by friction. This is such poor design and there is no reason to abandon the buckle type clip that has constantly worked. After 6 months of normal use, these clips holding the top on have worn and no longer work. What makes it worse is that they hold the bottom on. Imagine carrying the vacuum by the top and then the bottom falls out spilling the contents all over. July 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for home use Powerful enough for a home or small business, double duty give the possibility to use it for wet or dry. Fast filter change. Averall good product . July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great suction for the price bought this to help with cleaning the last of the water out of my Hot Tub. It worked better than expected and since it was small it was easy to move even when full of water for dumping. Then used it in my Garage to clean up and it picked up small rocks and nails and wire pieces. Great product and being small allows me to store it away easily. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Perfect Price Bought this for a home project, great price, so easy to use and assemble. Really glad I made this purchase. Especially when my a/c backed up only days after I purchased this and needed to use this shock vac to suck up all of the excess water it really came in handy. June 22, 2016
