I took care to apply this goop as directed (about 20 mils thick, at the proper temperature), left it on 24 hours, and it had no effect whatsoever on the mastic. I scraped it off the next day, and saw that the goop was slightly drier as some of its moisture had evaporated, but no mastic could be scraped off with it.
The mastic I was trying to remove was dark reddish brown in color. I point this out because it may be a characteristic of a type of mastic that this goop cannot remove.

The stripper in most places didn't bond or soften the mastic and eventually hardened into a layer that had to removed with water and scrubbing.

ONCE YOU APPLY THE MASTIC REMOVER TO YOUR FLOOR AND ALLOW IT TO WORK, IT DOES ITS JOB. IT IS AN OUTSTANDING PRODUCT! ONCE YOU ALLOW IT TO PENETRATE, THERES LITTLE EFFORT ON YOUR PART TO REMOVE THE GLUE OR MASTIC FROM YOUR FLOOR.
THE CLEAN UP TAKES LITTLE TIME AS WELL.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by basementflood Needed to get carpet glue off of my basement floor
After much research this item seemed to fit the bill. I purchased it and found it worked great. You need to put it down and leave it for a few hours, not too many though. The package said something about 12 to 24 hours. That was too long as it dried out! 2-3 hours seemed to work best. It stinks a little but I opened up my basement windows and that helped air it out. Once we scraped up the glue we put down warm water and scraped up more glue and mastic remover. Threw some sawdust down to help sop up the mess and it was done!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by BeadGirl Don't need to wear a respirator
After trying acid, a power washer, and a brand of adhesive remover, to remove layers of old outdoor carpet glue from my patio with little success, I talked to a chemist friend. She looked online and suggested this product because of the ingredients. The product worked great on the thinner layers. For the thicker layers I had to let it sit much longer, which I was okay with, it was doing the job. Well, a pop-up shower came along and I was concerned the product was washed away and I would need to buy more. Over the rest of the summer and fall, I noticed over time, more of the thicker layers broke down. So, I am pleased with the prodct. If you buy it, really pay attention to the weather, or be patient and let time help. I was happy I did not need to wear a respirator like with other products I tried.

I took 30 year old ceramic tile off my bathroom wall and found this ugly brown looking glue all over the wall. I could not get it off. I tried sanding to no avail. I searched the internet for something and found Ready Strip. It was wonderful. All you do is cover the wall and wait 24 hours and then it just scrapes right off. It was so easy!
