Product Overview

For the past 11 years, Back to Nature has been a manufacturer of safer paint and varnish removers, lead paint abatement products and exceptional cleaning products. Our Ready-Strip Mastic Remover is a state of the art, environmentally safe mastic remover designed to remove most mastics and adhesives easily and safely. It is non-flammable, biodegradable, water rinseable and contains no methylene chloride or caustic. Because of its special adhesive qualities, it can be brushed, rolled or sprayed on to a surface more effectively. It is virtually odorless even when misted. A special agent allows the remover to penetrate through the various layers of mastics and adhesives on a surface so that it is absorbed into the bottom layers insuring effective removal and a cleaner surface. Back To Nature Ready-Strip Mastic Remover can effectively remove most types of mastics and adhesives including more difficult mastics. It requires no neutralization.

  • Contains no methylene chloride or caustic chemicals
  • Removes most mastics or adhesives in 24 hours depending on buildup of coating
  • Virtually odorless, it easily liquefies mastic and adhesives
  • Has much greater penetration than other mastic removers on the market thereby reducing material costs

Will this remove the Mastic from Porcelain Tile

I read the reviews but everyone is talking about removing the mastic from surfaces but not the tile itself. I painstakingly removed the tile and need to remove the mastic off the bottom of the tiles so I can reuse the tiles.

Will this product remove the mastic off of the back of a tile without damaging the front of the tile?

Thank you.

Answer:
Hi-You can just apply the product the same way you would to the floor and you will get the same results. Since you are just applying to the back, you should not have to be concerned with the front. Hope this helps. Good Luck!

Answer:
Hi-black mastic is a little bit tougher to remove, but if left on from morning to afternoon, it should soften enough to remove. If the results are not achieved at that time, you can leave on for 24 hrs. As always, we recommend testing to ensure proper results. Good Luck!

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No effect whatsoever. I took care to apply this goop as directed (about 20 mils thick, at the proper temperature), left it on 24 hours, and it had no effect whatsoever on the mastic. I scraped it off the next day, and saw that the goop was slightly drier as some of its moisture had evaporated, but no mastic could be scraped off with it. The mastic I was trying to remove was dark reddish brown in color. I point this out because it may be a characteristic of a type of mastic that this goop cannot remove. March 15, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't work The stripper in most places didn't bond or soften the mastic and eventually hardened into a layer that had to removed with water and scrubbing. March 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good STripper clean, easy to use...easy to clean up. No odor. Strips well March 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MASTIC REMOVER IS OUTSTANDING! ONCE YOU APPLY THE MASTIC REMOVER TO YOUR FLOOR AND ALLOW IT TO WORK, IT DOES ITS JOB. IT IS AN OUTSTANDING PRODUCT! ONCE YOU ALLOW IT TO PENETRATE, THERES LITTLE EFFORT ON YOUR PART TO REMOVE THE GLUE OR MASTIC FROM YOUR FLOOR. THE CLEAN UP TAKES LITTLE TIME AS WELL. March 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Needed to get carpet glue off of my basement floor After much research this item seemed to fit the bill. I purchased it and found it worked great. You need to put it down and leave it for a few hours, not too many though. The package said something about 12 to 24 hours. That was too long as it dried out! 2-3 hours seemed to work best. It stinks a little but I opened up my basement windows and that helped air it out. Once we scraped up the glue we put down warm water and scraped up more glue and mastic remover. Threw some sawdust down to help sop up the mess and it was done! November 25, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Don't need to wear a respirator After trying acid, a power washer, and a brand of adhesive remover, to remove layers of old outdoor carpet glue from my patio with little success, I talked to a chemist friend. She looked online and suggested this product because of the ingredients. The product worked great on the thinner layers. For the thicker layers I had to let it sit much longer, which I was okay with, it was doing the job. Well, a pop-up shower came along and I was concerned the product was washed away and I would need to buy more. Over the rest of the summer and fall, I noticed over time, more of the thicker layers broke down. So, I am pleased with the prodct. If you buy it, really pay attention to the weather, or be patient and let time help. I was happy I did not need to wear a respirator like with other products I tried. February 13, 2010
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great I took 30 year old ceramic tile off my bathroom wall and found this ugly brown looking glue all over the wall. I could not get it off. I tried sanding to no avail. I searched the internet for something and found Ready Strip. It was wonderful. All you do is cover the wall and wait 24 hours and then it just scrapes right off. It was so easy! December 10, 2011
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of Money I have 40 year old Black Mastik on my bathroom floor. Do Not Waste You Time On the Product..Waste of Money too! August 17, 2013
