Customer Reviews

Red Passport is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 209.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Has Saved Me Many Times I travel quite a bit spending a lot of time on the road. I use to factor in getting speeding tickets to my overall costs. Based on a friend's recommendation, I purchased a blue LED 9500IX. I am color blind and have difficulty seeing the red but the blue LED is very easy to see. I have owned the 9500IX for a little over a year now and it has saved me a countless amount of times. I FULLY trust the unit! It has warned me of speeding cameras and all forms of radar. I know when it bleeps, I will soon see a local or statie. My only complaint has to do with the windshield suction cup holder.........bottom line, it sucks. It loses grip in cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have Love this detector. I've been a faithful Escort owner for over 15years. My most recent model was the 8500x50. I was happy with that model for the past 3-years. However, due to Urban sprawl in my area false alerts where really starting to get annoying. To the point I was ignoring the detector. I'm soo glad to have upgraded to the 9500ix now. After a few days of learning your driving path its very quite. When it does actually go off, I know to take notice and listen to the voice alert. This detector has a ton of reviews. So I'll just say another extremely happy customer. Fantastic product. If your debating whether it's worth or not. It's worth it !!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I compaired against the Max 360 and new S3 My brother got a Max 360 and the S3 and ask me to test, The S3 was dead and to be returned. The max 360 likes: the display and Bluetooth for my smartphone. Dislike: the large size, many false X alarms, cost. I have 2 9500ixs. the 9500 is as sensitive as the 360. Both work with my VR1 Lazar shiftier and smartphone. Buy the 9500ix and save yourself the money. I've been a customer since the mid 80's with Cincinnati Micro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent unit w/ minor faults This unit works great and has proven itself a number of times for me. Especially like the multi signal capability showing more than one radar in the area. Don't like: Has a mono speaker out - not conducive to most cord attachments and bluetooth/other types of units. You have to add a mono to stereo plug. Use of a stereo plug inadvertently can easily blow the audio out requiring a return to Escort. Escort fails to acknowlege and fix known issues, ie: On many vehicles... sounding your horn sets off the Laser alert. Really? Odd but true.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made My V1 Obsolete I had been a V1 user since its debut in 1994, but had been using it less and less because of its extreme propensity to false. It came to the point that I began ignoring alerts because it falsed so much. When the 9500ix came out in 2009 I decided to order one and try it out during the 30 day trial period. At first I thought the thing was defective it was so quiet. However, after taking it on a long grueling twelve hour trip I discovered that was not the case. It has exceptional range on K band and both Ka bands used in my state and as far as I can tell I get the same range as my V1, just without the falses. Off axis is excellent. Once I was on the Parkway and picked up radar the rangers were running a good ways back. When I finally came upon the source it was between two sharp curves and they were parked down a side road. That really impressed me. The auto and manual lock outs work great and as advertised.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievable Product and Company There is only one thing better than my 9500ix, and that's Escort's customer service and tech support. I'm tech savvy, and have never come across such a perfect support staff. My 9500ix is now three years old and works perfectly. Never a hiccup. It's saved me thousands of dollars in tickets and insurance bumps, and made me an even safer driver. One fallacy about radar/laser detectors is that people driver faster when they are installed. Not true! They make you a safer driver. Plus, you are much more aware on the road. I live in NYC, and red light cameras have proliferated beyond imagination. Their presence is under the guise of safety, when it's really a sleazy money-grab by mismanaged municipalities. Not only are red light cameras unsafe, but are dangerous. People know where many are, and stop short at yellow lights. I just took a trip around New England, about 2,000 roundtrip miles. I would have to say that my 9500ix saved me from receiving 6 speeding tickets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GPS and auto lockout false signals The biggest feature I like about this radar is the ability to lockout false signals. the radar was able to alert me when trap was setup in the same location where the signals was lockout. You can see the two type of bands being sent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We never leave home without it! I bought my 9500ix way back in May 2010. Not until Jan 2016 did I do it's first update for Firmware and Defender database (forgot to register it when I bought it). I gave it to my Wife a few years ago, and she loved it (still does) and after it's first update, it's even Quieter in town where she does most of her driving. She's really impressed with it, especially when she comes across the "your speed is" signs around town, it stays quiet after it learns it's a false alarm and locks out those signals. The 9500ix also has Great range, picking up LEO's 1.5-3 miles away in the city and 2-5 in the open highway. We take various road trips away from deep south Texas (to CA, AZ and FL), and this unit has saved us many, many times. I can't imagine having anything else with us, except maybe the New MAX 360, which i'd like to try. I highly recommend using this for everyday city or highway driving. You won't be disappointed!!
