This heater was far more than I expected. It's a real trooper. ..easy to start...heats fast, and looks great sitting on our brick hearth. I love the built in blower and thermostat that cycles on and off. It also gives you three choices for the blower setting, which I love...on, auto and off.
Good safety features built in too. We bought it as our backup heat source during power failures, which happen more than I like here in Virginia. We also use it to supplement the electric heat pumps during really cold weather. I highly recommend this. The price is way lower than many I've looked at with less features.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0Â by Carload This product can be used even if electric goes out. Also has a can't
This gas heater heats up the house quickly. With 30,000 btu I have peace of mind that it will do the job. What's nice is you get close and feel the warmth while you are warming up the house.
It is outstanding in the way it heats. I don't smell fumes either. Anybody that has gas in their house should have one! Also looks nice.

This is a great heater & very reasonably priced. Puts out plenty of heat, was easy to install & start-up. Other reviews mention offensive smell. It only put out ordor for a brief time when first lit. I guess it was paint & maybe some residue on heater from manufacturing. After about 10-15 minutes the smell dissipated & now the heater runs great with no noticable odor. I bought this heater to use up the rest of the propane in my tank while waiting for natural gas to be installed at the house. I ran the unit for about 2 to 3 weeks on propane. It is vey economical (it ran for three days after the gauge on the propane tank read empty!) I then converted it over to natural gas. The conversion from LP Gas (Propane) to Natural Gas was very easy (took about 2 minutes). The heater fired right back up after the switch-over.
It is a little noisy. You can hear the gas flow from the valve & the fan is also a little noisy but not that offensive. You can turn the fan off if you want & the heater still puts out alot of heat.

I purchased this unit, and installed it easily. The unit comes on, and heats great. The problem is that it has a 3 position switch for the blower that doesn't function properly. the "auto" position of the switch which is supposed to turn the blower on whenever the burner starts doesn't work. The only way to turn the blower on is to use the "on" position for the blower. The blower comes on, but stays on even when the burner has turned off.
I have contacted Sure Heat (The manufacturer) about this and was sent a set of instructions on how to properly "set" the auto function. After trying this with no success, I contacted them again. I was told that they would have an engineer call me to help solve the problem. After 2 weeks with no call, I emailed this person again. The person who responded told me she was sorry for not answering earlier, but had been away from her desk for some time and didnt get any of her emails. She then suggested I either call a "repairman", call the gas company, or uninstall the unit and send it back. She also told me there would be a 2 week turnaround in getting a new one to me.
This to me is a huge communication problem with Sure Heat as well as poor customer service. I would say stay away from Sure Heaters. Too much problem.

The heater was purchased for a class room in our church. It is small enough that we did not need to change the gas hook up or rewire for additional electrical outlets. It was light and easy for me to install. The most beneficial is even with it's compact size it is powerful enough to handle keeping the room warm for our youngest children. I have already told a friend about the unit. She is looking for a heater for a family room.
