Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ma2liv They don't stay up
I bought 5 and loved them at first. After installing the first couple, my husband got the hang of it and installation looked easy (adhesive). However, 4 have fallen down. We've tried re-sticking them to no avail. I emailed Home Depot for help but they didn't respond. Too bad because they looked like good quality and made the room look fabulous. If anybody has had luck installing them another way, I'd love to hear about it.

I don't have a picture of this, but know that in master bedroom, we hung this blackout.
It had to be trimmed, and the online ordering did not send an inside mount. normally trimming is not an issue, but if you have a metal bracket at the top, it can be. check this before ordering.
length was fine for our window, but i did see better priced cellular shades on HD, except they were either sold out or not available in the desired length, and therefore, went with these.
I would recommend checking these out in a store, for quality, looks etc, before purchasing. I don't think the online image does any justice.
Being cordless, it is a nice touch!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dakota exactly what we wanted
This shade is exactly what we hoped it would be. Very easy to install and works great. Originally we only wanted it down for the morning sun that would flood our room via a large block glass bathroom window, but it has kept the room so much cooler we plan on leaving it pulled down throughout the summer. We didn't need to cut it to fit since the width of the window is 48inches. It has stayed firmly in place and blocks out everything. It's attractive and looks as nice as anything we could have placed there. Having spent thousands on plantation shutters throughout our home, this shade doesn't diminish the look of quality at all. We are very pleased with the purchase.

I was very disappointed to receive the shade, have it installed and find out that it didn't have brackets, but was adhered to the window frame by adhesive. The shade itself was nice enough, but it wasn't what I thought I was purchasing. I purchased the shade online.
I went to Home Depot and with the help of customer service was able to order another shade with brackets and return the shade that I didn't want.
My overall experience with Home Depot is excellent.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pfeifmom Simple solution that does the job
We needed a black out blinds for my son's room and this does the trick. He is able to open and close them on his own since he is 6. And the sun needed to be blocked from his west facing window. I thought I would be able to saw the ends off myself but my husband's strength was needed for a cleaner cut.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Emmy easy to install and operate
I used this product mainly for climate control. It went up in 3 minutes because it was the exact width I needed so I didn't need to cut material off the sides. It looks good and operates easily. I love it and plan to buy more. I put this on a southern exposure window for climate control. It's doing a great job of blocking heat generated by sun's rays.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by IMJennW Replace Light Filtering cordless with these!
I waited years for RediShade to come out with a BlackOut verison of their white fabric room darkening cordless blinds which I've had for about 5 years. So I was thrilled to see the blackout version. These are about $10 more then their other version and don't have the button to make the cord retract. They definitely do the trick for keeping room dark (even dog sleeps in now!) although as can see in pic some light will get through bottom as can't pull them flush like their older model since bottom is thicker and different cord design. 1 of the 3 I installed right away had issue with retracting well and 1 cord is tighter as left side hangs lower when retract. For installation, so long as you have a sharp knife want to throw away after (as it will totally dull it), these trim to size ok with some elbow grease. It takes some geting used to not having the retracting button of older model as these you just lift up slowly and wait for the shade to retract upon itself. So far, the install tape is holding great whereas their older model, I eventually had to add nails too (but those lasted many years too). Biggest complaint I have is, these don't come with side trims plugs (like old model did) so can see where you cut it and considering cost more wil contact manufacturer to see why they no longer have the 'trim' included. Also the bottom part of these is thicker then older model so hard to get flush vs. their other version with button could get to rest right on window sill.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Blinds44 A bit too springy, very good for the price,
- Looks to be made of paper and mylar, so very light weight (< 2 lbs). Looks good. No visible strings or holes!
- Excellent Price
- 100% light blocking.
- Takes some work to cut. Might want to buy a new knife w/ long blade.
- Cut width carefully -- or light will leak in around edges
- When you pull it down, it likes to spring back up 2-3 inches. Hard to keep it touching a window sill.
-- Maybe it'll wear in? (Our window height is 6" shorter than the max product length. May be better for shorter windows.)
- Bottom tends to lean away from window into room -- so important to get bottom to rest on window sill
- Opens easily, but you can't push it up too fast, be patient.
- Double-stick tape on top (full width). Must remove any wallpaper first. Should hold fine, considering 2 lb weight.
- Shipped fast (3 days) and free, double-boxed.
- One sight is neutral tan, the other is white (to reflect sun?)
