I believe it is safe to do so after about 30 minutes
(see label instructions on application drying times) as this stuff works on being absorbed while wet into the plants it lands on.

Answer:
If you're very, VERY careful about no getting any, and I mean ANY, of the Roundup on your flowers and shrubs, then yes you can use it to kill weeds and grass. The herbicide is absorbed through the leaves (not the soil), so you can get it on the soil.
If you get Roundup on any plant you like, then that plant is pretty much a goner. It'll probably be dead in a few weeks.

Hi Mickie.
Thank you for your question.
Roundup is a “Non-Selective” herbicide which means it can kill anything green that it is sprayed on. Caution must be taken when this product is sprayed onto a flowerbed. If any of the spray gets on the leaves or flowers of your ornamental plants, the results can be damaging.
A viable alternative would be to weed your flowerbed manually and then once it has been cleaned out, add a "Pre-Emergence” such as Preen to the top of the soil. Preen will help to prevent the germination of the weed seeds for up to 3 months. This would be a much safer choice than the herbicide.
Preen: http://www.homedepot.com/s/Preen?NCNI-5
Ground Cover Bark: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Earthgro-2-cu-ft-Groundcover-Bark-88352185/100355687
Once your flowerbed has been cleaned out, add a 2-3 inch layer of Ground Cover Bark to help prevent new weed seeds from starting to grow.
The combination of the Preen and the Ground Cover Bark will make a great protective combination.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by kill it all I bought this after i removed ivy from my back yard. I added the recommended amount into my sprayer and i used it on anything that was on the ground. A week later wverything started to die off and now the roots are easier to remove. I am planning on planting new vegetation in the area so i wanted to kill everything so no new ivy pops up when i water the area. So far so good. Easy to follow directions. Make sure to dump and clean out your sprayer on the driveway and not your lawn. This is a great buy! September 30, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent weed killer Spray on ,next day start seeing the weeds dry up, Has always worked for me, would'not buy any other weed killer October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mixing labeling The only thing that irritates me is how difficult it is to find the label that tells me how to mix. I buy paint, and it's simple 3 parts reducer to 1 part paint, but this product I could not even find it on the bottle - and if it is there it is lost in all the other infermation they have on it. Why? I got the consentrated plus. Now maybe I am dumb, but this is irritating - because it is the only practical information you need to know when you pick up the bottle to kill pants is the mixture. Just say... 3 ounces to 1 Gallon 6 ounces to 3 Gallons And so on. Why is this so difficult. I had to go to this website just to use this. May 9, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money and time I bought this. Once i used it and i was surprised to see quick result of dieing grass and weeds. I was waiting to put sod on those areas and i was gone out of town. By the time of 4 th week, i came and notices lots of weeds all over which i did not see on those place before and it messed up all my backyard and part of frontyard. So, now it is so hard to clean up those weeds. I dont recommend to buy this product even it say round up company. July 4, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did absolutely nothing! I took 3" of dirt off the ground. Spayed Round up. Waited a week sprayed again. Put down weed barrier, covered with 3" of decomposed granite. In less than a week had weeks coming up. Contacted Home Depot they gave me a stronger Round up-6 months later and 6 bottles of the stonger Round up and still have weeds coming up. 40 tons of granite and thousands of dollars in work and weeds in it all. Contacted Home Depot again today and was told it it not there problem. Can some one from Round up help? I have alot of time and money in this and am very dissatisfied with Round up and Home Depot. I followed their recommendations on this project and need to start over to get it weed free. See pictures from less than one week of laying down granite. Weed block used was made by Scott's-wouldn't recommend it either. Please feel free to contact me to resolve this problem. Abilene Texas. Leave me a way to contact you in this section. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Waste of money and time I normally buy the extended control but our local store was out of it so I bought this concentrate instead. I live on a farm and go through 2 bottles of this in one day spraying Fence lines edges of flower beds etc. I was very impressed with how fast this product killed the weeds but the weeds came back full force in 4 weeks. Very disappointed. June 29, 2016
