Hello! Before I purchase your items for my project, I am hoping to get an idea of the size Rubbermaid Access Organizer I will need. I would like to use for mainly folders/file storage.

Therefore, if not too much to ask...are you able to tell me apprx. how many, along with the largest size file folders (manilla type) each size Access Organizer might hold? Thank you, I surely appreciate.

Large (Model # 1866947)
Medium (dont see a model #)
Small (Model # 1866945)

Answer:
Hello, I would not suggest these for files, simply because there would be a waste of space inside.
The side walls of this conatiner (in all three sizes) indents on each side, (maybe to make them easier to unstack from each other but serves no real purpose that is positive for the end-user, excepts wasting internal space).
Also they slope inward from top to bottom so a smaller floor space than the top

Also they slope inward from top to bottom so a smaller floor space than the top area - so more non- usable space for you, when filling it with something rectangular such as file folders.
Having done end of year filing for companies bookkeeping myself, for my work, I would say look elsewhere for a straighter sided container. So you use as much of the space inside for your benefit. If you get the see through ones, you can put the year and contents list on any side for easy viewing later on to ID the contents, just as you might have thought to do with this model's see through window.

Answer:
I have about 40-45 magazines sitting on their binding edge in the small organizer - they fit just right - going from the left side of the pull-down door to the right side of the door. So letter size folders should fit that way too. Legal size folders won't fit in that direction (too small) but may fit from the pull-down door to the backside of the organizer because that orientation is wider. Hope that Read More

Answer:
The large size would be best for regular size folders. The number you could fit in one would depend on what the folders were filled with. Legal size folders could only be placed front to back, not sideways(vertically) Personally, I would not use these for file folder storage.

19.5 in. L x 17.5 in. W x 11.6 in. H Small Access Organizer in Turquoise is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 75.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! I bought a bunch of these a couple of months ago and they're perfect. They open from the top and side so I can access any way I need to. The mediums are the right size, not too large, not too small, for office organizing, though I may get some of the others for other things. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy way to store stuff This is a great way to store clutter in the garage because the door opens up on the side, and they can also be stacked. I bought the small size and it had way more storage room than I thought it would. It could also be a good way to store items in a camping trailer. Love the aqua color.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for a variety of uses! I use these for my reptiles and love them! I know there is a whole reptile community who would absolutely love it if the large size was made in clear as well so it's even easier to see what is inside!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from looking forward to using this! A soon as my beekeeping shed is finished, I'll be using my Rubbermaid bins to hold my smaller stuff. So far the plastic door is working well but I feel like I must be really careful using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Access Door I really like these totes. The door pulls down for easy access to my fabrics.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from brilliant design I ordered two of these containers (medium and large) for use in the office, and it is by far the best kind of tote storage there is. The side-access panels means you can stack containers on top of each other, and still be able to get to any one container without having to lift, put down, lift, replace, etc. And the clear doors make it easy to ID what's inside. I work for an organization that does boatbuilding, and a colleague who is a shipwright pointed out to me that the design also provides rigidity and strength. Am definitely considering getting these for home storage, too!
