Can I store blankets, sheets & keep out moths?
Can I store bird seed in winter in garage without squirrels gnawing through the bin? I've seen evidence they can bite through neighborhood trash receptacles.

Answer:
Not a chance. There is a slight crack at the top of the doors where moths could enter.

Answer:
It is not air tight therefore, I wouldn't put blankets because the moths would probably eat them. As far as storing bird seed from squirrels, because I think squirrels will chew this. This a very strong plastic but those squirrel can eat through almost anything short of cement.

Answer:
I would put blankets and sheets in a different type of storage. Try the bags that you vacuum out the air.
I would place birdseed in metal garbage can with a lid. The critters will not be able to chew thru the metal.

The Rubbermaid Acces Storage Totes have a door in front that opens. Moths could acess the totes through that door.
Squirrels can chew through anything plastic.

The bin snaps tightly closed at the top and is not easily opened if you're a moth or a squirrel. I have some trouble opening the top myself. The front opening is made out of clear plastic that's thinner than the bin. To open this part, you have to lift the door up and then pull it forward to yourself, and it drops down. I think it would take a squirrel all winter to gnaw through this door. I can't guarantee that a moth couldn't get through but he would have to squeeze through. I think you could store blankets and sheets but to be safe put some cedar inside the bin. I wouldn't store bird seed unless you put the seed in containers, inside the bin. The plastic door is framed with the heavier material as the bin. Read Less

Answer:
I would have to say no. The more I use these the less I like them. If they are full and then you put something heavy on top, the side door pops open. I have noticed silverfish at the bottom of one of the boxes.
They are a great idea, but they just don't have a good closure on the trap door part.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love these totes These storage totes are great because I can see what is in them and yet they are stackable and I can also remove content with out having to unstack (I guess this is not a word, but you know what I mean) them and then restack them. September 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Product is good. Product is good. Home Depot delivery was well boxed and perfect. May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Convenient Organizer With the transparent front panel and the opening up front, this organizer is very convenient to use especially if you need to stack them on top of each other. August 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gecko home I use these tubs to house my crested geckos, they are perfect! August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by size measurements are not accurate I purchased this item based on the measurements quoted for a large size storage container. The top of the box measured accurately however the box size tapers down so that the size of the bottom was not the same as the measurements listed. I was not able to use the box for the purpose I needed it for. Overall, it was very misleading information when you are trying to find a specific size for something. I ended up returning it. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Storage solution I originally thought I'd use these in the shop but, when they arrived, I was in the middle of re-organizing my sewing room. Since I was running out of space to store projects and repairs, these seemed like the perfect solution. For me, out of sight is out of mind - having the transparent doors is awesome, plus you don't have to dig down in a box AND they stack. The only down side is the color - Turquoise is not my favorite but there was no other choice - I'd prefer black or white so they didn't stand out so much. That being said, I'd buy lots more of these because they are perfect for storing things you need to get to. April 24, 2013
