Happy to help! Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel Spray Paint dries to a hard, durable finish. We do offer an auto body clear coat in a quart size. Check out Rust-Oleum Automotive Auto Body Clear Coat! We do not recommend adding a hardener since it could affect the performance of the coating. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-Automotive-1-qt-Auto-Body-Clear-Coat-Paint-Case-of-2-253522/204644771

May I purchase just one can?
Asked by: Shirley
The reason online products are sold by the case is for shipping purposes. In many instances, including this one with Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel Spray Paint, items must be shipped by case quantities. For this reason, when purchasing items online, they must be purchased in this way.

Should I use this if I'm painting my vehicle Flat Black ?

I'm looking for the flat black look and not sure if I should use a protective coat over the flat black ill be painting with.
Asked by: Rsher3
Applying Rust-Oleum Automotive Enamel dries to a gloss finish. This product is an ideal protective finish that resists nicks and scratches. However, it will not provide the flat sheen you are looking for.

11 oz. Enamel Clear Gloss Spray Paint (Case of 6) is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product Have not yet tested how well it stands up to heat, but cleaned and coated an engine and a transmission. Finish looks great and (after curing for several months) it has held up impressively to the considerable wear-and-tear that I have subjected it to thus far.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glossy Used it on wood. Works well after 3 coats. 1st 2coats seal. 3rd holds gloss. Fan on spray would be nice as opposed to just a circle.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok Product The Gloss enamel does not spread that good. Also not good if expecting a crystal clear look. Average performance and not good for transparent plastics like headlight. 2K options in market might perform well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good product. As good as it gets out of a spray can. Actually, with all the unreasonable regulations placed on the paint industry, it's better than many other finishes.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Small spray pattern Advertised as automotive paint but does not have spray pattern consistent with other automotive type paint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best non-two part protection It is not as tough as a two part Urethane but looks great and is plenty tough for for general use

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I was looking for a long lasting, durable top coat with which to finish furniture ... This top coat is hardy, you can scrub it with soft scrub. Since it's an automotive top coat, it can be waxed to increase shine. It takes a beating better than polyurethane or polycrylic; it's more heat and water resistant. It dries faster, too; it can be recoated as many times as you'd like with just 15 minutes - no sanding required - between coats. It stinks, on par with spray paint or polyurethane, so use it outside in a well ventilated area while wearing at least a sanding mask. I bought the six pack; the price per can was very reasonable that way. (Six cans costs about the same as two large cans of polycrylic.) The downside? Unless you are in full direct sun, or in a workshop with 360 degree lighting, it's almost impossible to tell if the coverage is even when wet. Though it's clear, uneven coverage is noticeable when dry, so recoating becomes necessary. It takes more coats, and thus more product, than I anticipated. Six cans hasn't gone nearly as far as I thought it would.
