Does the deck need to be sanded and completely rid of all old paint?

The previous owner of our house used very poor quality paint on two enormous decks, and its peeling terribly. Can this product go over the old paint that is left?

Two months ago +/- I went in to buy what I thought would be enough 10x to finish the job... but not enough. So, I went back last week and (of course) you no longer make or carry the color close to what I had to get mixed (due to no paint chart... granite is close to matching). I am 1+ gal away from finishing the outside of my house (stucco over concrete block). I am a 75 year old female and not wanting to go over the complete, all ready painted areas... so is there any chance I could get my custom or "granite" color in 10x consistency?????????? No one told me two months that it was no longer gonna be carried!!!!!!!

Is it good for wheelchair ramp

Asked by: Cherry
As long as the ramp is made of wood or concrete, Rust-Oleum Restore 10X Advanced Deck and Concrete Resurfacer is ideal for application. Please keep in mind, we do not recommend using this product on smooth or floated concrete, fiberglass, tile and metal surfaces. These surfaces will not allow for proper adhesion. Preparation is key to Restore 10X Advanced Resurfacer adhering properly. To properly prepare your surface use either the Restore Deck Start Wood Primer or the Restore Deck Stripper.

Can I use the 4x as a base coat and follow with the 10X for the top coat.

The coverage area for the 4x is greater than the 10X, so I would actually have to buy less paint for the project. additionally, i want the 10X on the floor but not the railings
Asked by: Galjin
Rust-Oleum Restore 4X can be used under the 10X Advanced. However, two coats of Rust-Oleum Restore 10X Advanced are still strongly recommended for best results and proper coverage.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money Similar experience as the other review. Would not recommend. Started peeling within a couple of months of putting down - even on new wood. I can deal with being like cake batter and somewhat expect it to be that way, but the peeling is ridiculous.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Product....Dont buy! For people in the Great NW.....Lousy product last summer in a 1 week time frame of dry weather... I did exactly as state last summer- brand new board laid down. Press washed and prep with adhearing spray and then paint 2 days later. this spring...7 months later, bubble and peeling up. I am very ticked as I bought 3 gallons of the product and it didn't even last me a yr.
