Surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt, grease, mildew, organic growth, and other contaminants to ensure proper bonding and adhesion. Smooth and/or glossy surfaces should be sanded or roughed up to aid in adhesion. For best results use a pressure washer to remove embedded dirt and grime. For grease and oil spots use tri-sodium phosphate (TSP) according to manufacturer’s directions to remove stains. Read More

Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for your question!
If you want until spring to apply your second coat, you may have problems with it cracking or peeling over the winter. This will be especially true if you experience a harsh winter.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rustolium Deck Restore paint dune colour My son started this process in June by pressure washing our deck which goes all around our home. Nailing down loose boards as our deck is 20 years old and was in desperate need of repair. It now looks new. He applied two coats of Dune Color Deck Restore and using 12,( 5 gallons.cans). Home Depot had free delivery which was great and very prompt service. Paint goes on thick and the rollers are textured so it looks like stucco.and much like composite decking I love it. By using two coats of paint it covered nail heads and cracks in wood. Overall very pleased and we will see how it holds up to winters in New England..The rollers need improvement they wore out after about 5 feet of painting..My son Dan did an awesome job as you can see in video..
