Customer Questions & Answers

Can a different roller be used to obtain a smoother surface?

Asked by: Anonymous
If you want a smoother surface just use a brush in the opposite direction of roller application. So if you roll up with roller then brush down lightly over application with a brush to obtain smoother surface. Works great.

Can I paint the rust of a microwave

Asked by: Dori1256
Rust-Oleum products are not recommended for the inside of a microwave. The products will not handle direct heat and will cause the coatings to peel. Additionally, Rust-Oleum Restore Roller Kit is recommended with our Rust-Oleum Restore 10x Advanced product.

can this product be used on a prepainted cement porch

Asked by: Anonymous
Restore will adhere to a previously painted surface if properly prepared. All peeling or flaking must be removed by stripping or sanding. Remove any algae, mold or embedded dirt. Glossy surfaces must be sanded. Surfaces that have been previously coated with a stain or water sealer that continue to bead water will require pressure washing or stripping to ensure good adhesion.

I need a 9 and an 18 inch roller. Do you have those? If so can I add to this order and is there a discount for ordering 32 5 gallon cans?

Asked by: Anonymous
9" roller works great because it fits right down in the bucket to retrieve the product.

4 in. Roller Kit 4 piece is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Roller does not hold up. The roller starts to fall apart after a short period of time. You then have to pick up the little chunks of the roller stuck in the Deck restore you just applied. Roller needs to be improved.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is the right size roller you want to do this project. The smaller size gives you better control and looses less to waste. You can also attach the small roller to pole to save your back a little. Getting two for this price (plus the grate) is a good deal. You should buy extras too, because the roller starts to shed and break down with use. I did 2 coats of a 160 sq ft. deck and ended up using 3 rollers. Home Depot did a great job at shipping fast to store. Unfortunate that you can't buy this product directly in stores. Be prepared with extra supplies so you don't run into problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4inch roller kit I have one thing to mention about this roller kit. Their should be instructions on how to remove the roller from the handle when you are done with it. We soaked it for hours and it will not pull off. my husband had to use a wire cutter to cut it off. It was on so tight. The other reviews we read said that the roller would fall apart. This on did not. We where very pleased. But we kept adding water to the paint because it was hot out side while we where working with this kit and the paint. I am happy with the final results of the deck. I hope it last as long as they say.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The roller brushes in this kit are not worth 2 dead nats. They come apart while you are using them! The brushes come apart while you are using them. They did not last long enough to cover a 10 x 10 foot deck with the first coat..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Did an okay job for awhile, then roller started faling apart. Wasn't very happy with that otherwise worked fin The roller started falling apart toward the end, but I do have a very large deck over 400SQF. Other than that it worked just as it said it would.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product isn't worth a dollar, never mind what I paid for it !! Sorry to say, that I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. When I first started using the roller, after about 5 minutes, the steel arm came loose. The plastic handle had a split in it where the steel arm went in. The rollers didn't last more than maybe 5,or 6 boards before the roller material started coming off and making lumps on what was left of the roller. My deck is only 10 by 10,so not that large.I believe that the roller kit was made in China, sooooooo !! I went to the local hardware store and got a regular paint roller ,which worked fine ,so as I could finish the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor performance. I have a 18x20 deck and roller didn't last long enough to cover even half of the deck. Material just tore off the roller. Would not recommend to anyone. Also took over a month to receive the product.
