Would this cover epoxied cracks so that you could not see where repairs were made?

Asked by: crafty
Yes, this is a solid stain and covers imperfections well.

how much prep work does it need

before you put the adobe deck coat on
Asked by: dingo
According to the reviews I read by the pros, preparation is everything. At a minimum you should use the deck restore cleaner according to directions, and remove any loose paint/stain currently on the deck.

can you use in a paint sprayer for a fence

Asked by: rockyb
This is very thick material with a sandy type media incorporated into it. You would need a very high quality sprayer with a special head designed for materials such as this.

Could you be clearer about proper preparation of deck before using the deck cover

Asked by: londongal
Clean the surface with Restore Deck & Concrete Cleaner or a mild household cleaner and water. If necessary use a brush to remove any embedded dirt and grime. A pressure washer may provide best results. The surface should be dry before application. Previously painted surfaces should be de-glossed and any flaking or chipping paint should be removed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked for us I do not know how we got so lucky but we put this on 4yrs ago and have not had a problem with it until this year and it just needs to be touched up in a some spots we have quite a bit left from the first time so we are going to us it up and repaint the whole deck they now have 10X that should be some super awesome stuff but they do not have our color. We have a very large deck so replacing it will be very costly so this works for now.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from warranty does not fit the product I put the paint on last summer. I have been really disappointed in how it has held up. I expected from the warranty that I would not have to repeat the paint job for a few years. We put plastic chairs on the deck a couple of months ago and decided to move them around pulling the paint up with the chairs. The deck already has the cracked look of old wood since last summer. We power washed the deck and did what was needed before painting. The rails and sides look nice, but the walking area already looks worn. Would not recommend.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Up in the air, but early signs aren't good Do some research before making the purchase. I didn't, but read some things after I had already made the purchase. There were many negative reviews by homeowners, but a few pros who said it was all in the prep work. I scraped and power washed my deck with the deck restore cleaner, and anywhere I saw fibers I even sanded the deck. I applied two coats on separate days per the instructions, and I allowed a couple of days before placing items on the deck to make sure it had enough time to dry thoroughly. After I placed the deck furniture on the deck and returned a few days later the chair pads had adhered to the new paint and small areas peeled up. I'm now going to touch up those areas and buy and indoor/outdoor carpet, but I'm afraid this is a bad sign. It looks good for the moment, but I'm more concerned about what it will look like a year from now. This was written 6/20/2015, and I will return hear next year about this time to update on the durability for one year. If this product holds up, the good thing about it is that it is thick, and two coats generally fills any cracks or nail divots. As the other review mentions, one of the bad things about this product is that it has a tendency to dry out and crust over quickly, especially when working in the sun. Since I can't weigh in on durability just yet, the only true disappointment we have is with the temperature of the material after it dries and when it is exposed to prolonged sunlight. We purchased the product in the taupe color, which is fairly light, but the deck surface seems to be hotter than a much darker color of the previous finish for some reason. When I stepped from the painted area (I painted 1/2 of the deck at a time) to areas that hadn't been done yet the bare wood was definitely cooler than the finished area.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Beware This product looked beautiful before it snowed. Now my deck is peeling and I will need to remove all of the product before I can restrain it. Please look on line at the reviews. Unless you have joy sanding the deck and doing triple the work, avoid this product. I brought pictures into my Home Depot store and they didn't really seem to care. A huge waste of money and time. Wish I could give it negative stars!!
