5 in. x 16 in. Natural Kiln Dried Eastern White Cedar Shingle Siding is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from These shingles are very nice quality. IMPORTANT NOTE: The product... These shingles are very nice quality. IMPORTANT NOTE: The product is NOT a mono-width of 5". The box contains a random assortment of widths. Some boxes have lots of wider ones and some boxes have almost all under 6". Open all boxes and shuffle before installing.

They are on the thin side, so care must be taken when installing. We hope to use a stain on them and hope they will hold up well. Time will tell. They really accent our upper level and window.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Different Product I ordered two boxes of the shingles and one box came without primer and the other game with primer. I had three force of the area put up in the natural Cedar that we were loving and then when we open the other box the shingles were all gray due to the primer which caused us to paint the shingles. Home Depot give me a lousy 15% back because of the inconvenience.

I got the request to review this product before I have installed all of them. The job is half done and the quality is excellent. No exposed blemishes. All blemishes are on the unexposed portion of the product. I plan on using a solid stain when the install is complete.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cedar Shingles for Rustic look Cedar shingles are good quality with very few throw aways. Very random widths give a nice rustic look. Biggest problem is the sanding is very erratic. Some shingles are quite smooth, some are rough, and some are partly both. When they describe shingles as "clear" they mean just the bottom 5 in. that will be exposed. I used these on an exterior wall and they look rustic, which is what I wanted. Third time I have installed these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good shingles The shingles arrived in a well packed box and the shingles were in great shape and very good quality. Some had knots but not many. The shingles had a wide variety of sizes, which made for a nice look. I bought three boxes to cover a shed roof that was about 80 square feet and I have about half a box leftover.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cedar Shake Just completed my garage. I went with this white cedar over red cedar since it was my garage and I do not think you will notice after painting. The white cedar here was 1/3 the cost. This product is far lighter and more brittle than the red cedar I have used. That being said, I can't say that is an issue for the price. So maybe it will last 30 years instead of 60? I am ok with that. I did approx 750 sq' on a 70 year old garage. Much of my brittleness was due to the age of the garage and the old wood nailing to. I highly recommend the sbc devices for $50 to hang cedar shake. Did one side of garage without and the other 3 with. Well worth the money.
