Product Overview

Micro-Induction Cooktop provides the best in cooktop performance, safety and efficiency. Induction heats as electricity flows through a coil to produce a magnetic field under the ceramic plate. When a ferromagnetic cookware is placed on the ceramic surface, currents are induced in the cookware and instant heat is generated due to the resistance of the pan. Heat is generated to the pan only and no heat is lost. As there are no open flames, inductions are safer to use than conventional burners. Once cookware is removed, all molecular activity ceases and heating is stopped immediately.

  • Dual functions: Cook and warm
  • 7 power settings (100-300-500-700-900-1100-1300W). The 2 lowest power settings cannot be actually achieved, but are "simulated": 100W = 500W intermittently heat for 2 seconds and stop for 8 seconds. 300W = 500W intermittently heat for 6 seconds and stop for 4 seconds
  • 13 Keep Warm settings (100-120-140-160-180-190-210-230-250-280-300-350-39°F)
  • Touch-sensitive panel with control lock
  • Up to 8 hours timer
  • Micro-crystal ceramic plate
  • Automatic pan detection
  • LED panel
  • ETL / FCC certified

Customer Questions & Answers

Will any metal pan work on this cooktop (Aluminum, steel, stainless steel or cast iron)?

Will any metal pan work on this cooktop (Aluminum, steel, stainless steel or cast iron)?
Asked by: Pap
The electro-inductive heating requires ferro-magnetic material -- that means basically iron or steel -- there are some rarer metals that will work but they aren't used in cookware. If your pan is aluminum, you can use a steel interface disk -- the cookplate heats the disk and the disk in turn heats the pan -- but that means you still have to deal with a hot disk after you remove the pan. You can get a stainless steel induction interface disk with a heat-protection handle.

I need to bring a 4 qt. pot to a rolling boil. Will this induction cooktop accomplish that and is there a pot sold for this?

Asked by: JB
Yes. Pretty much any normal steel, stainless steel, or cast iron pot will do. The design ensures less heat leakage than conventional hot plates incur, so nearly all of the wattage gets transferred to heating the pot, which in turn heats the water. Keep the lid on and you'll see the hot vapor emerging briskly when you have a rapid boil. A medium-high temp setting will maintain a medium-strong boil, and a medium-low setting will keep a simmer that's a bit fast for 15-minute long-grain rice -- medium is good for boiling potatoes or steaming broccoli.

Can Corning cook ware be used on this same as stove tops in flat tops

Asked by: Barb
Not directly. Please see my response to the question about aluminum and other non-ferrous metals -- that doesn't work directly either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing Speedy Heat As long as your pots and pans work with Mr. Induction, it's a no brainer. Get the thing. Try it. I have a set of stainless steel Caphalon pots and pans. Only my rounded bottom medium size pot works. The other pots and pans get a beeping & it refuses to function cuz of the safety feature. The pot or pan must be in contact. And it has to be the right magnetic properties for the hot plate. Anyway once I figured that out, I could have returned in frustration. But I'm keeping it for that one pot. Why? Cuz Mr. Induction is so fast & efficient. I am amazed by the thing. So I'm keeping it. And I love using it with that 1 pot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome cooktop! I bought this cooktop to replace my coiled electric cooktop. This induction cooktop sends the electric coil, halogen, and other cooktops back to the stone age. It can boil water (for the same volume) faster than my 1100 watt microwave, can cook pancakes flawlessly, can simmer or stew better than gas stoves. The only drawback is that it requires cookwares with bottom that contain iron. A lot of the Farberware and Cuisinart "stainless steel" cookwares did not pass the test. However, cooking a piece of steak on the old school cast iron skillet was fast and to perfection. Lots of safety features to boot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very useful induction cooktop unit, with limitations The unit came packed sufficiently and with clear instructions. Overall, I rate it as "good" due to the typical induction limitations and a weird lower-temperature functioning. Typical induction limitations include correctly sized, induction-ready pans. Anything smaller or larger is hit or miss. As for the lower-temperature cooking? Well, it is a time-division thing where the coils are powered to a medium level for part of the time, so it can be annoying hearing the pulsing and waiting for the pan to stabilize temperature. Otherwise, a good unit that is perfect for making sensitive dishes like caramel or low temp items that are too difficult on a gas range.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it, a lot. I love this burner because it is safer than non-induction burners, It only heats up the pot (not the surrounding space), it holds a constant temperature, that you choose, and it has a timer. It was a bit weird to get a burner at Home Depot, but I looked around and I liked this one's price, the lower wattage, and a couple of the reviews swayed me. Plus, I have bought thousands of different items from Home Depot that I am happy about.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect in every way! I've been cooking w/ propane for 30 years, Just the 2 of us now and don't do a lot of cooking anymore. Love this little burner.... It was tricky at first, it turns on w/ a magnetic field which is why the surface stays cool to touch. Not all cookware will work but a simple magnet test, if the magnet sticks to your pan, it will work on the burner. Fast, efficient, portable, safe, and great looking . Great for travel (just take the right pan!) You won't be disappointed. We love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SPT 1300W I love this little induction stove top. and I love the thermostat feature, which allows me to reduce the heat even more. I can bring the cooking temperature down to very much lower temperature. I like to slow cook a lot and this works wonderfully. I bought a Max Burton plate, which allows me to use some of my non induction pots, that I did not want to part with. And my expresso stove top makers. We decided that this wattage is just fine, I do not need the extra wattage, it cooks very quickly when on high. And sooo easy to clean.
