This Clear Advantage fiberglass insect screen, really works well. My kitchen window screen was beyond repair. Replacement was a little tedious, as I had to take the frame apart to replace the screen, but the results are great, great look, easy to cut with household scissors. Clear view out the window, and no bugs coming in through the gaping holes in the old screen. Very satisfied. I still have my back door screen to replace, it will be and easier job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by schlafe Crystal clear and strong
I am extremely happy with the CLEAR ADVANTAGE 36 IN. X 84 IN. CHARCOAL FIBERGLASS INSECT SCREEN FCS8480-M. I used the screen to re-screen a standard single sliding screen door. The screen material is easy to work with, extremely strong, and provides a considerably clear view once installed. I am still somewhat amazed at the strength of the screen material given the amount of light the screen allows through. I would recommend this product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Anthony Looks nice, no bugs
This screen came with a nice pamphlet of information describing its various qualities. Evidently this screen (versus regular screens) allows more light through, is harder to see, & has a finer mesh pattern for greater insect protection, all while meeting industry standards for tensile & bursting strength. Sound good? It sounded good to me. All the technical stuff aside, this screen was very easy to work with & looks as good as a screen can look. I did not have any problems with it tearing and there were no pinched parts when I unrolled it. The product is made in Mexico.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by EightOfEight pleasantly surprised
I wasn't sure what to expect with this replacement screen since, on the roll, it looks almost black. But when it is installed in the screen frame, it is magically almost undetectable. I am pleasantly surprised. The mesh is finer than the original screen that I replaced, so I am confident that it will keep out even more bugs than before. It is also very pliable and easy to work with, and there was no warping or dents like the metal screens often get during installation. I am very pleased with the quality.

We used this screen to replace the metal screening on one of our sliding screen. It is actually a kit that comes complete with the tools you need for installation. We found that it installs fairly easily, and we are happy with the result. The view through this screen is definitely better than the old one, and it does seem to let in more light as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Duck Very clear, easy to work with, but a little fragile
I used this to replace the screen in the front door. It was easy enough to install, but on my first try the screen tore when I was pressing the spline in place. I was able to move it over a bit since I hadn't cut it to size yet. On the second try I made sure to keep the spline tool to the outside of the groove and it went ok. It looks great. It feels flimsy and I wouldn't lean against it, but it is stronger than it feels.

In all honesty, we ordered this screen so that my husband could use it in his ceramic coating business. It helps to provide a pattern when he "paints" parts. For that purpose, it has been great. We have plenty of material left to keep using it for a bunch of projects. I can see how it would be great at keeping bugs out if it was used as an actual screen.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MushroomHunter Better than the old metal mesh screens!
The material is dark and you can see the screen in the window, however, a pleasant side effect is that it filters out the late afternoon sun thru the kitchen window. The mesh is slightly smaller than the old screen and will keep even the tiniest insects out when drawn to the lights.
The material is nice and soft and very easy to work with. it's very easy to measure and cut, and pull tight while rolling the gasket into place. Then trim with an Exacto knife for a neat finish.
The only thing that would make this perfect would be a lighter color.
