Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DougH Samsung chef fridge
I have always been a huge Samsung fan, spent $5k on the fridge expecting no issues. The ice constantly has issues and now the shelves are peeling. I contacted Samsung and after several calls finally was able to get someone to replace the shelves, once the appointment was set they contacted me and said sorry, higher up cancelled the replacement due to it being cosmetic? Cosmetic, lol, the whole reason I bought the fridge was because of the cosmetic look. I contacted many more times and had no luck, they will not replace. Very unhappy and extremely bad customer service, will not purchase another Samsung product after this situation.

We recently had issues with it after it turned 2yrs old. Samsung was truly the worst ever to deal with....they originally offered to replace the refrigerator after the entire compressor on the upper portion went out. Then when it was time to receive it, they went back on their offer. When we called they refused to let us speak to a supervisor & are offering a refund. This sounds nice, but it's still not a given. We've been given a code & someone will call and email us with the paperwork to complete. I'm betting we just spent 5K on a hunk of junk that we'll have a difficult time getting out of our house.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by KanjiWu Reconsidering why we chose to purchase this fridge
Our model RF32 fridge was determined to have an unrepairable condition, so Samsung told us they would do a buyback on that. And then it was up to me to go out and purchase a new fridge. No exchange since my current model was discontinued due to a defect in its design. So instead of going 3.6 cubic feet smaller, we chose to go 2.6 cubic feet larger. Outside dimension of fridge was near the same within an inch. No problem fitting it in an open end space. Our delivery of the new fridge was delayed 6 extra days due to the scheduled fridge having a dent in the front of it, discovered about 30 minutes before it was supposed to be delivered. So we got to wait a 3rd week before getting a working fridge back in the kitchen. New fridge was finally installed on Tuesday. We noticed a tiny dent in one door and a crease in the control read-out door. I am quite a busy person and after spending a couple weeks already on the phone with Samsung, I just do not have a lot of time to jump back on the phone with another issue. So I called on Friday (today), when it is quieter and I had a chance. Now I am getting the runaround about it being past 48 hours and there is nothing Samsung WILL DO about cosmetic damage. They blew me off. I am actually on hold with the Home Depot warranty service as I write this. I will add about this fridge, that although it has a lot of fancy compartments and is very deep and roomy, it really isn't as nice as the 31.7 cubic foot Samsung fridge that just died on us, at age 2 years 3 months. It is nowhere near as bright inside because the LED light panels are smaller. The door handles are not symmetrical left to right either, kind of odd. And the chef pantry causes huge limitations to the height between shelves because it takes up a lot of space. Only two shelves are adjustable in height and by one notch each only. Thus if you store many tall items, you may have to take out one shelf. The bins on the doors have no height adjustment, they fit in one place only for all, fridge and freezer. Thus when I pull a 1 gallon milk jug out of the right hand lower door compartment, I bang into the next shelf up, unless I tip the milk jug and pull it out a bit sideways. So overall, a step up in size and features and this fridge is $1500 more than the one that died. But we like the old one a lot better. I cannot recommend this fridge. And as of today, with how Samsung treated me, not sure if I can recommend Samsung refrigerators. I own a lot of Samsung devices: TV's, phones, computer monitors, all of those are excellent. Not sure why their fridges have problems. And after reading many of these other reviews on various web sites, seems a lot of people are having problems. AND NOW I can say, the Home Depot tech I just spoke with was very helpful and he is going to have the two doors replaced. His cooperation keeps my faith in The Home Depot very strong. Appreciate that.

Nice looking fridge, like the space had to get used to at first. I want a surge protector added but too heavy to move.

Worst purchase I ever made and the most expensive appliance I have ever bought, I have never had a refrigerator breakdown after only 7 months. You get a complete runaround from the service department and they make you prove that you are eligible for warranty which takes a couple of days and they even suggested that I take my food to a friend or relative while they went through the process of verifying warranty and scheduling a technician. I had to transfer my food to my old refrigerator, that luckily I did not get rid of yet, that is 15 years old, and still works fine. Will never buy another Samsung product

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EfficiencyMinded Great refrigerator
I have seen other reviews of problems with ice/water feature. We connected ours using Teflon tape and we don't have any leaks, the ice is great, the water delicious. I especially like the oversized area - I can fill a 1 gallon pitcher with ice and water quite easily. I enjoy the versatility of the bottom right compartment that allows me to choose between using it as a refrigerator or freezer. The storage features are also wonderful and allow me to organize the food items much more easily as well as reducing the problem of having some items buried. The design is sleek and clean. I love the built in handles (don't stick out). The chef pans are VERY handy. The chef pantry - also handy. The tilt out door shelves are a great feature. I also love the feature that allows the drawers to finish closing when you push on them to close (so they don't bounce back open).
