Can you apply to brand new concrete?

Asked by: Mandychelle1979
Our Seal-Krete Clear-Seal may be applied to concrete surfaces that have cured for a minimum of 28 days. Even freshly cured concrete needs to be etched prior to application using our Seal-Krete Clean-N-Etch:

can this product be used on stepping stones.

Asked by: lowman
Yes our Seal-Krete Clear-Seal may be applied to stone. As this coating may become slippery when wet, we recommend mixing our Seal-Krete Clear Grip into the sealer prior to application to create an anti-slip surface:

Great Product, if you take the time and i mean time to read directions and wait between coats for proper drying times. Looks great. Do not start too early in the morning. Moisture will be present on the paint or concrete and you cannot see it or feel it, so be patient and wait. You need to roll in both directions to remove lines. Watch temperatures, air temp may be 85, but concrete temp is higher. Do not apply too much or it will remain milky white and you can see the lines. If you spray it on, back roll it to even it out and get rid of the white milky haze. DO NOT PARK OR DRIVE ON SURFACE until it is time. Be patient young Padawan. My only issue is i have a steep driveway, see photos. The higher the gloss, the slipperier the surface. We have had vehicles get stuck in the rain, i cannot wait till ice season. Seal Krete Customer service told me to paint using the Low Gloss to avoid the slippery feel. I also added the anti skid additive from Seal Krete at 1 bag per gallon on 2nd coat only. Customer service suggested 1 1/2 bags per gallon on the slope with an additional coat prior to full cure or i need to sand to adhere coats. Love the product. It would be a 5 if and only if they noted on the label and i had not spent the additional money on another coat about the difference in slippery conditions. This process took 2 weeks in total due to size of driveway. Steps 1. Pressure wash to remove dirt. I used 4200 psi with 30" circular disc. 2. De-grease to remove oils. 3. Verify De-greaser worked, if not i had to pressure wash again. 4. Muratic Acid Wash, scrub it. 5. 3 Coats of 1 Part Epoxy, wait to cure. Rolled with 3/8" Nap. Be careful, it is slick in the rain or when sprinklers turn on. 6 Coat of Clear after 72 hours of dry time. 7. 2nd Coat of Clear with anti skid. 8. 3rd Coat of Low Gloss Clear with additional Anti Skid due to slope of driveway. I suggest you test an area first. Drive on it before you go all out. Take time to do it right. Most issues can be avoided by reading, patience and google searches on How to do each step.

I think the chemical base products works better for look and applications I wanted to achieve, cant speak to the durability yet. I applied it to tumbled marble flooring tiles on a pool deck. after two coats it did achieve close to the look I was trying to achieve. best way to apply was a 1/2 nape roller. tried other methods move the roller slowly over the surface and roll over any line formed by the roller with light pressure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Thought this was a good product I purchased two gallons for my stamped concrete patio. I power washed to ensure it was clean and let it dry for several days. I used a leaf blower to ensure the patio was clean right before I used the product. I used a sprayer with a fine mist and it worked really well. It went down as a white milky liquid and then it dried within several hours. I put down a second coat and let it dry as well and it came out clear and glossy. I was very happy with the product at this time. After 5 days of 80-85 degree sunny weather, we had rain for the next 3 days. After the second day of rain, my stamped concrete turned milky white again from the rain water! Once the weather cleared and the sun came back out, about 3/4 of my patio turned clear again, but some of the sealant remained milky white and did not clear. What do I do now??

This is the 2nd year that I have sealed my stamped concrete with this product. So, yes, I like it and it works very well. It's easy enough to apply. I do it myself. I am a 63 year old female. I purchased the roller and pan specifically for driveway sealing. I simply role it on the driveway. I also use a paintbrush to paint on the sealant in corners and along the edges near grass. It dries pretty quickly, but I allow it to cure for a few days before driving on it. I will use this sealant again next year.
