I had a job that required changing out at least the bus bar in an older Sylvania service panel. We wanted to have the ability to hook up a portable generator to the system. After reviewing several options for cost, code and UL compliance it was determined that total replacement of the service panel was the best approach. A Siemens G3042B1200GEN panel with the subject interlock kit was chosen. This combination allows for manual transfer only. Alternate parts are required for automatic power transfer.
This interlock kit has two parts. The first is a stamped steel hoop that locks one of the bus-tie circuit breakers to the generator back-feed circuit breaker. The second part interconnects the circuit breaker switch handles so that only one of the breaker can be closed at one time. The installation of the back-feed breaker and this kit only took about five minutes. The parts fit perfectly. The function was exactly as expected. The only reason for only giving an 'average' rating on value is that these parts would cost less that $1 to make. Compared to the other options available though, this kit is inexpensive.

Installed without issue - fit is perfect! The piece that joins the two switches goes on tight, but that is what you want!

Rated 1 out of 5Â by MIKE WILL NOT FIT!!!
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN A NICE AND CHEAP INTERLOCK KIT...BUT IT DOES NOT FIT
SPACING BETWEEN BRAKERS IS TO SMALL AND IT WILL NOT LET THE BRAKERS ENGAGE FULLY...
