How does one replace the blade? I tried pushing down on the black rubber part that holds the blade. Can't get blade out.

To remove the blade, lift the black tool-less blade change cover up then pull out the blade. If you need additional assistance please contact our Product Specialists at 1-877-SKIL-999 (1-877-754-5999).

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed Me When I Could Least Afford It! I bought this Jigsaw about 5 years ago and have used it for a couple of small projects as needed. The saw has some nice adjustability built into it and can be set up depending on what you are cutting and how you would want to use it. The power is adequate but the base is not as stable as it should be. Recently when the saw was pulled out in order to build a Christmas Present with only a few days to complete the saw's piston lost ithe "Fixed Lock" and was able to spin as it was cutting. There is not any means of fixing this and the saw is effectlvely trash at this point. With only a couple of hours of operation the $50 spent on this tool provided very little real value. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by A Decent Jigsaw Not a bad product. The foot does not hold angle especially well, nor does the blade backing engage always, but cut quality is very good if you're patient and power is more than adequate. I preferred my older Skil, but the plastic housing cracked where the foot attached (and motor finally gave up the ghost). It accepts both U and T blades, which is a big plus. U were mandatory for me, as I have a large inventory of them. November 30, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by best purchase this year easy to read instructions, it worked well and and did the job. Good value for the money December 23, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friend broke my old one cutting crossties This purchase is replacing the same model, bought four or five years ago. I put the old one through it's paces including the scroll features for some fairly intricate cutting and it held up quite well until my friend used it to notch some crossties (he should have used my sawsall). I normally do not buy Skil products but this jigsaw is a great value and should hold up to most any job you have. June 5, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent jigsaw for the $ Bought this for some curved slanted cornices for windows - one over 16 ft. long. This saw did the job but there was some minor play with the blade. Needed sanding touchup on all the curves. Certainly a better unit than those under $35, but not in the class of more expensive ones. Blade changing is easy - be sure to get the right blade for the job - worth the price. August 31, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Its a Skill Its a Skill...what else needs to be said. Skill has been around forever and there has to be a reason. They last forever (well maybe not Quite forever, but darn close). It has all the features for this type of saw at a fair price. One of the features I like about this saw is you don't need any tools to change the blade or adjust any settings on the saw, October 15, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent features Good performance, more features than comparable completion. January 7, 2014
