Is this opener compatible with Homelink in my Hyundai or do I need some kind of adapter/bridge or whatever????
Asked by: palaceman
It depends on the REV/VER number. It has to be higher then 4.2 to be compatible. If it is lower then 4.2, you'll have to purchase our model 318TR, to complete your desired operation.

I have a one car garage with a spring, pulleys and brckets already in place (there used to be an automatic opener there).

I donot have the cables, the chain, and the 1/2 HP motor. Do you provide all that with your motor or they are extra? When chosing an istaller, how many of those existing items will be re-usable?
Asked by: Ghani
In fact the motor come with all parts to be installed in standard installation, door and roof must have 7' high, if not you must buy extension angle 90 degrees you can find at homedepot, 2 bars of 3 ' cost me 22.18 + tax and come the installation, I paid 150.82 all tx include for bars and installations (canadian $) Installation take around 2 hours. Standard bars come with the motors by far to be the same quality of what you can buy at the store. Also standard bars are only for standard installation as said for a 7' feets and 7 feets roof. If you are not standard, then go buy 2 X 3' extensions. Thats it. Oh I forgot you may need a electrical extension if the plug is far from the motor (with ground) and 1 X light of 60 or 100 watts depend the model.

Customer Reviews

1/2 HP DC Chain Drive Garage Door Opener is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Quiet but slow I bought 2 EQ-115s to install on singe car doors. They are rated at 1/2HP but the the rating plate shows a maximum current of 2.5Amps which is 300Watts and not nearly close to what a 1/2HP needs. That might explain why the openers operate so slowly even with a relatively light door. Another problem is with the remote controls which don't if the temperature is below -20C. I have an unheated garage so when leaving on a cold morning, I have to get out of the car to close the door with the inside button. That kind of defeats the purpose, huh?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good value for the moneyu I just installed this to replace an existing opener, and it was simple to do, and everything needed for installation was included (to answer Ayad's question). Once installed, you need to set the upper and lower limits before it works, but that is simple to do. It is much quieter than the one it is replacing. I don't think you can get significantly better performance without spending a fair bit more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good little garage door opener Installed with little fuss other than an FYI that you must install the safety beams in order for it to open and close correctly. The quality seems to be there but only time will tell if it lasts. It comes with everything you need to install which is a huge positive. I installed on a single sectional door which this GDO seems to have plenty of power opening and closing with. This was my first garage door install and looked on YouTube for guidance but like I said it went in with little fuss. My only complaint is that it is a little loud but that's par for course with Chain driven units.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product. Great Price. Easy Installation. I was expecting a cheap Chinese made produce but was pleasantly surprised to see a great looking and well made product. Very easy to install with video instructions. Extremely quiet. Very easy to program. Cannot say enough good things. I have a 2nd older opener and am thinking of replacing it with this one.
