Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use this to wire my shed up with 3 otlets and one light fixture

Asked by: skern18
Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Ensure you use a 15 amp circuit breaker, max (not > 15 amp). You should be able to run everything you need on that 15A breaker, unless you need to run two space heaters on high, then you'll trip the breaker.

Do you have to put this wire into plastic conduit?

Asked by: kctj
When coming out of the ground or going through concrete it must be inside conduit. See the NEC for details.

Can I connect this product (UF-B 14/2 with ground) between two 15amp Romex wires?

I want to extend a 15 amp circuit from my garage to a shed 15 feet away. I was planning to use this wire (underground in RMT) to reach the shed, THEN use regular 15amp white Romex for everything inside the shed. Will the wires match up safely?
Asked by: NYDIY
Yes you can change to standard 14 ga conductors once inside the structure. No conduit needed for burial. Min depth 12".

Can it be used overhead

Asked by: ron
No.The above advice is based upon the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC). Free access to the latest version of the NEC is available online at The NEC and local building codes regulate the types of wire and cable that can be used in specific electrical applications, as well as the manner of installation. Check your local building codes before you start any wiring and cable electrical project and be sure to obtain required permits. When your work is complete, always have it inspected for compliance with local codes to ensure that it has been safely installed.
