I would give it about a month. Here's my rationale: the weeds were taking a toll on your lawn, so your lawn is stressed. Adding weed killer stresses it some more, so you need to give your lawn time to recover from the weeds. If your weed problem was really bad and you're left with huge empty spots, you can probably reseed around a week after.

The best time of year to reseed your lawn is in the fall. If you don't have too many bald spots, here's what I would do:
- Kill the weeds first
- A month later, fertilize your lawn and do it again every 4-6 weeks
- Water regularly if it's not raining
- In the fall, overseed your lawn

Plants are visibly stressed within 24hrs (under humid 90s conditions) and those that got heavy doses were dying a horrible death. It appears to be toxic by contact. So for instance, leaves that were only half exposed demonstrate damage in only those areas. Nutsedge anatomy is somewhat beneficial given the leaves have a fairly prominent central channel. A drop or two of herbicide on the tip can easily flow the length of the leaf down to the center of the plant. I'm using the product in month-old Zeon zoysia sod. I will likely reapply (following the label directions) in another month to kill the stragglers. Read Less

Answer:
Anything that kills weeds you will want to keeps pets off until it's dry (and even after that I don't like them to eat the grass). I just use weed killers in my front yard and pull weeds in the back where the pets are. I have used the weed and feed products where my pets are (after it dries) and they haven't ever gotten sick but it's just better to be safe.

Ron, you can use Spectracide Weed Stop for Lawns plus Crabgrass Killer Concentrate around humans and pets, but we do recommend that people and animals stay out of the treatment area until it has completely dried. After that, you can use your lawn as usual.

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 155 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by kills eveything but the weeds Keep overspray away from everything but the grass. It made low hanging willow tree branches wilt and not recover after two weeks and it killed the lower section of my hydrangea. July 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Used three times in a row I bought three of these and used it in three weekends in a row. Not a difference August 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed. Did Not Kill Crabgrass or Clover I thought this was going to be easy; hook it up, spray and wait for the crabgrass and clover to die. Did not happen. Some browning of the crabgrass edges, but it lives on to propagate! Clover keeps spreading. Used as directed. Sad, but true. August 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product It worked pretty good, half of my lawn is brown and the other half is bright green (lots of weed) Bermuda is recovering now, and will wait about 1 month to spray again, I guess... Wish it came in a bigger presentation and like a calendar or schedule for the beginners like me. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glad I found this product I had used granular products for a couple years on creeping charlie and wild violets with little success. This product killed them almost completely on the first try. The only trouble I had was that I found the ON-OFF dial hard to use. What I did was to attach a trigger nozzle with a threaded front to the hose. Then I attached the bottle, with the dial in the ON position, to the nozzle. This allowed me to easily turn the spray on and off with the trigger nozzle. When I wanted to move the hose or move from one area of weeds to another, it was easy to turn off the spray with the trigger nozzle. June 30, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't work as directed. Wow, I give this product a zero if I could, because that's what I got out of it. A LOT OF WORK WITH NO RESULTS. But it did make my grass brown. Really a bad deal for me. Hope you have better luck with it. July 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Did not work It is now 2 weeks and the crab grass is still growing August 2, 2016
