I'd have to double check to be absolutely positive, but I believe the shipping cost equaled
what I would have spent on gas, going to and from our local store.
.
Even if it were a few dollars more, it was well worth it not to have to deal with traffic and waiting in line.
.
Online ordering is just so much more convenient for us. We dont have to get out and about and its delivered right to the door.

The unit is apparently adjustable up and down the side rails. But, does the unit also pivot at those same points to allow directing the heat down?

Output can be elevated from parallel to the floor up to approximately 25-degrees. Unit does NOT slide up and down the side rails as inferred by another reviwer.

Two knobs on each side will allow small degree in elevations only. But you must pick it up and turn it from side to side to determine where you want the heat directed.

This ended not being anywhere near as strong as the reviews would have you believe. I couldn't imagine trying to "heat" any space larger than maybe 4x4' with it. I originally bought this to try to maybe bring the temperature of my garage up 10 degrees or so to take the edge off the chill in winter. The garage is surrounded by well... house on three sides, and insulated on the other, so it typically stays around 20 degrees colder than the house at worst in winter. I ran this for 2 hours in my 21x19' garage and it brought the temperature up 1.4 degrees. Not useful.

The weather is not very cold yet. Have only used them on low settings at night when temperature is 39-44. I get a 25 (or more) degree gain on inside temp compared to outside with three on low.The heat circulates evenly throughout the space. Other heaters I have tried only heated up the area immediately in front of the heater. I actually bought six, so I can alternate their use when the weather is colder so each one doesn't run too long a time.

I bought this heater in early December 2016 to keep my potted citrus, avocado and palm trees from freezing in a 10'x18' hoop house I constructed with PVC pipe and 4mil polyethylene. The day after it arrived we had two straight nights of 14-15 degree temps with day time highs of 32 degrees. I had the unit set up on the ground (decomposed granite) at one end of the hoop house with the temp setting only 1/3 turned up and the fan on low. The temp in the hoop house never dipped below 40 degrees either night which is exactly what I had hoped for. So, after one month of intermittent use, I am very pleased with this unit and would recommend it to anyone with a similar application. However, time will tell how well it holds up, especially considering the high humidity environment it's in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Big mistake Bought this on-line, plugged it in the day after it arrived. Hoped it would warm up the "party garage" to a bearable temp. It was smaller than expected, fan was weaker than expected. Followed instructions re: setting it on high fan and high heat until it came to temp (instructions say to turn thermostat knob down to set the desired temp when you get there). I left the garage, came back 40 mins later and had no power ! This heater (rated to draw 12.5 amps) blew a 20 amp Bussmann fuse. I would NOT recommend this unit for heating an average size detached space. It might heat a cold room in a house, but seems unable to warm up a detached space when temps are in upper 30's. Save your trouble, spend double, and stick with propane heaters. Took it back to Home Depot the day after it arrived.

I used this heater in my semi for heat in the winter, and it worked very well, lasted for years! I liked the three setting's, fan, low heat, high heat, and the fan speed setting's also! The design was easy to secure in my moving truck, and just rode in the same place all the time! The squirrel cage fan design moves a lot of air! I used it for years, and before every season, would blow it out with compressed air, and nothing more!

That is, most are worthless to heat large unheated areas. But, I bought two of these for my 2-car garage workshop. After disappointing results from many other 1500-watt/120-volt heaters, I didn't expect this one to be much or any better. Surprise! As soon as I turned it on I could feel the heat really pumping out. Within minutes the temperature was climbing. Putting the second to use, (on a different circuit - of course), and I am totally impressed. Special note: the fan is quiet and moves the air well. Very happy: great price, 3-year warranty, does the job in cold Connecticut.
