Questions & Answers

Does it have a draw that is divided for small items?

Asked by: dave
I just got one of these through HomeDepot.com and it didn't have any dividers for the middle compartment. I called Stanley and they told me they were an optional accessory available through servicenet.portercable.com. I can't even find them on the Home Depot web site :(

My top part is coming off the rail when I slide it back! Who or where do I take it? I got it on 11/19/2014.

Is it still under warranty?
Asked by: Corky
if your local Home Depot has a tool repair center they could probably help you. if the item is defective then you may be able to have it replaced.

Customer Reviews

FatMax 22 in. Structural Foam Roll Workshop Tool Box is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 186.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great took box I was nervous with all the poor reviews on the handle breaking. But this is what my husband was looking for in a tool box. Our handle has yet to break, and it is full of his tools. It has a ton of space for everything he needs with more room to spare. It's a great tool box and I would recommend it to me friends and family.

Storage options/pockets could be more sturdy, and handle is a bit wobbly, when you pull the handle up to much and pull it it feels like it will brake of!

I bought this item to replace a Stanley STST18613 rolling toolbox when the hinges on the lid failed due to the handle bring attached to it. A bad design. This box is a much better design with the handle extending down to the bottom; putting no stress on the lid. I play in a band and use the bottom to store cables and misc items, the middle for a soldering iron, multi-meter and some other misc tools and the top section for a couple microphones and effect pedals. With all these items the toolbox is heavy yet still easy to roll and while I've only had it a few weeks I believe it will last a lot longer than the old toolbox. The only con is there is no middle organizer to store small parts so I just placed the organizer from the old toolbox in the bottom bin. Overall I would recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from On my third and it's breaking again Unless you plan to be very gentle with this product I would strongly recommend NOT BUYING IT. I’m on my 3rd one and I used to really like them. It’s very spacious and can hold a lot of stuff. I fill these things with office supplies and take them on films shoots to create a mobile office. The way they expand is very convenient for easy access to its contents. BUT THEY ALWAYS BREAK. Far too many components are made of thin plastic and easily break. The best example is the arms on each side of the fatmax. They help it expand and then lock shut. Those arms are connected to the top and bottom sections by two small plastic pieces that they slide on. These pieces always break first. I see a lot of positive reviews on here and that's great but all three of mine have failed me. Mine get loaded onto a truck with a bunch of other film equipment and always end up falling apart. Unless you like throwing out large pieces of plastic each year I strongly advise steering clear of this thing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FatMax for Toastmasters We bought the FaxMax to store meeting supplies for our Toastmasters club. Since our conference room changes frequently, this is a perfect tool for carrying members packets, ribbons, timer light, and other materials we need for a meeting. I used zip ties to attach 2 -6"x 24" drain pipes to hold our banners. The only drawback is learning how to open and close the unit. But once you have it, wow what a tool.

Got this product a month ago to use for our camping supplies and it work's great! Holds our pan, skillet, propane bottles, plates, paper towels, and grilling utensils in the large compartment and tray. Smaller compartments hold clothesline, clothes pins, spices, matches, first aid supplies, and silverware. It works perfectly and is easy to move around when we need it!! We love it!!

It opens quickly and easily. The top latch is a little tight. It doesn't look resistant to water. It rolls smoothly and is easy to pick up and load into a vehicle. Would buy again.
