Product Overview

Powerful output, compact design, remarkable energy-saving features! Our whole house electric tankless water heaters perform with the highest standards for comfort and reliability. Tempra Plus models feature Advanced Flow Control, exclusive to Stiebel Eltron tankless heaters. If hot water demand exceeds unit’s working capacity, Advanced Flow Control automatically maintains consistent temperatures by slightly reducing flow. Intelligent self-modulating technology continually ensures the least amount of energy is used to heat the water. The Tempra 12 Plus provides hot water at a consistent temperature for 1 bathroom in warm climates and for 1 bathroom at a cabin or cottage in cold climates. See sizing guide to determine which model is best for you (guide assumes 2 GPM or less per shower-head). Stiebel Eltron invented tankless electric water heating technology more than 90 years ago, and is still the industry pioneer and world leader. Our engineering and manufacturing tradition of excellence means you can depend on the performance and reliability of our products. Call Stiebel Eltron at 800-582-8423 if you have high flow showers or any sizing questions.

Answer:
The Tempra 12 Plus is fine for a mobile or prefab home but only in a warm climate and only with low flow fixtures. You should make sure you are buying a large enough model to supply as much hot water as you need at any one time. You can't fill a tub with hot water at 3.5 to 4 GPM with a Tempra 12 pretty much where ever you live, but it will work fine for a single low flow shower at 1.5 GPM. You should Read More

Answer:
Yes, you just need to have an incoming electric service large enough to support the Tempra. General rule is to size the unit for not much more draw than 1/2 of your entire service. If you have only 208V instead of 240V then go up one unit size. Other variables in sizing the right unit should be considered though. Suggest calling the manufacturer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works good even though I have low water pressure. I installed a Rheem RTE13 and the water pressure wasn't enough to activate the heater when the vanity faucet was on. The shower worked good, but then the water ran cold once. I tried to test the electrical board to see if I could modify it, and accidentally blew it out (my own fault) then I found out that they don't sell parts for the Rheem. No more Rheem for me. So I bought this Tempra 12. It works great! June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product, great alternative for a water heating system... Quiet, good looking, space saving and very efficient. Well worth the cost to change-over from bulky water heater tank system to tankless. CL - Florida Keys July 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Eltron Tempra 12 review I purchased this product online from homedepot.ca. While the savings in space and electricity are an advantage unfortunately the tank less water heater reduces the water pressure drastically to heat it up. I am not sure if this is just a "Eltron Tempra 12 plus" problem or if this is something that happens with all tankless water heaters. If I cant figure this out I might have to go back to a regular water heater. The pressure gets so low that showering takes forever . I will be contacting the company to arrange for return or exchange. November 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I am very happy with the product, now I have so much room in the garage I am so glad I got ready of the old huge tank I had , I am very happy with the tankless heater, I have no problems with the hot water. My house is a 5 BR and 4 baths, and I always have hot water. June 25, 2013
