I am 6'1" 235 a bit large in the middle. how is the opening for getting in and out and moving about for fishing

Asked by: bruman9
I'm 6' even and 275 and I've had no problem with mine. The combing is huge on these. I can even pull my feet out and dangle in the water while fishing.

Will the rod holder accommodate a fly rod?

Asked by: Marc
The front swivel works great for my fly rod . The flush ones behind you are for your spinner or baitcasters.

I'm 6' even and the adjustable foot rest is adjusted 1/2 way up for me. You should be just fine in this.

Excursion 12 ft. Sit-In Fishing Kayak is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value, Great Fun The fact that this product sold for $150 less than the nearest competitor is wonderful! The fact that the product was delivered on time by a courteous and helpful freight company, even better. This Kayak is more than what I had hoped for, it is well constructed, well equipped with features only found on craft with prices hundreds of dollars higher. The seat is comfortable, adjustable and sturdy. the foot braces are adjustable and there are pads to protect your shins. There are three positions for fishing poles, dry storage and more. This is a featured filled bargain. I am loving this kayak!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very stable. Very stable. Carried kayak from KY to FL and spent a month kayaking Bay and FL rivers around Tampa. 12' stayed up with the others in our party that were using 10 ft kayaks.very easily. I added a high back seat for more support which is easy to do without damage to the original seat. A good stable base for fishing out of.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Kayak, Good Value This is a nice kayak. Nothing fancy, but allows for a good time in the water. Tracks fairly well. It is already rigged for fishing, so I didn't have to drill any holes or do any installation. I have enjoyed it so far and am pleased with my purchase. If you want a good kayak but don't want to spend a fortune, this is a good way to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from pretty good for the price. I did some research on this kayak before buying it. it's my secondary backup, or guest kayak, to be used for fishing and duck hunting. My main concern was how good it maneuvers, sturdiness, and how good it cuts through the water with very little paddle effort. It did all that. The only downside is I was hoping for a more comfortable back rest, and a larger cockpit opening. But for the price, this is still good. I already used it a few times for fishing this summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny We have been been fishing and canoeing the lakes of the Sierra's since my two sons were born 15 years ago out of two Coleman canoes. I bought the 10' Excursion for my 15 year old son last year and we all took turns using the one kayak. I paid a little over $300.00 for that one and the minute I got in it, I knew I would be buying more. Purchased the 12' Excursion for me this year. These yaks are light, extremely durable and track just fine even into a very stiff wind and lake swells. We even fish them in Monterey Bay on flat days as we don't have skirts, yet.. Will be ordering two more this Spring. Love these yaks. Home Depot was $100.00 less than anyone else with free freight. Cannot beat this deal or these boats for the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Looking Kayak For the price this is not a bad kayak. My one big complaint is that the plastic on these kayaks is too thin, it should be thicker and more sturdy. When it was shipped to be it came with a dent in the bow, I was able to pop it out with my hands, but it left a crease. Hopefully it hold up.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great kayak for the price. If you're looking for a good all around fishing kayak, this is a great choice. Took it to the lake for Memorial Day weekend and it did good. It is very stable. It doesn't track well in wind or chop, but is very comfy and stable to fish from. It would benefit from a skeg. But for the price, you won't find anything close to competing with it (except maybe the Aruba which is the same minus one rod mount). The paddle that comes with it is junk. Buy a better one.The shipping and tracking were annoying (shipping company"s poor tracking system, not HD's fault) but other than that, not a bad experience. I've paddled Perceptions, Wilderness, and Pelican's as well, and this is in their category for build quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing I live in south Carolina, I have done long trips in this kayak without issue(45 miles down the Reedy River), easy to paddle and great stability, I have also taken this kayak down the Chattooga river sections 2 and 3. The Chattooga river is know for its awesome and intense rapids. I have taken this kayak through class 1 through class 4 rapids with ease! The only problem I have is there are no spray skirts that fit this kayak. But I have never been dump out of this kayak on any major rapids due to its stability. If your just starting out, this is a great kayak, it is a fishing kayak not designed for big rapids, but I like to push the limits of anything I get, and I have done that with this kayak. I have no issues with it, and it keeps on floating!
