  • Reducing standby loss means increasing efficiency, 2 in. thick environmentally safe foam insulation
  • Simple design of the heat exchanger eliminates the need for costly scheduled maintenance services
  • Can be linked to a boiler using either a zone valve or a circulated pump
  • Attractive and durable silver plastic jacket ensures a rustproof finish, even in moist environment
  • Needs Honeywell control L4080B-1352

Answer:
Economy of scale. The 45 gallon units outsell the 30 gallon unit by 100 to 1. As a result the cost of manufacture the smaller unit is higher. Thus the distributor cost is hire. The same holds true on electric and gas heaters.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great! Powered one of these with a 210BTU boiler and generates enough hot water for a family of 5, never run out of hot water., with a 30 gal model. Have had mine now for 15 years with not a single issue. I am replacing it with another because a small leak has developed around thermostat and its beyond its expected life. October 23, 2014
