Can an additional swing or money bar row be purchased and added onto an already designed swing set?

I am looking to purchase the Swing N Slide Southhampton Wood Playset, but my daughter really wanted more swings (at least 5) AND monkey bars as well as all the fun things it already has. Can these be purchased and added on at a later date to this play set or any play set? Can you ever buy and add on an additional swings bar?

Answer:
You could easily swap out one of the existing ones, but there's no room to add any more swings to that. You could always buy lumber and add onto it, sure, although it has stuff on all four sides, so the question becomes where you'd put it. Might just need a second set.

Answer:
The Southampton. The swing beam the customer would have to purchase a 4 x 6 beam themselves if they wanted to make the beam longer to add extra swings on to it. The maximum length they can go is 12 ft. and you can put the A frame leg to extend there. They can have a 4 x 6 x 16 and have the a frame leg to 12 ft. and have a 4 ft. over hang for an extra swing. 4 swings can go in a 12 ft. beam space. Read More

Unfortunately we do not have monkey bars safety tested on the Southampton so I am not sure where you would be able to put them. Just so the customer knows if they modify the play set it does void the warranty. Read Less

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.6 out of 5 by 14 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Up to you if it's worth the effort... End product seems fine, although some screws were a tad too long and start to poke out the other side if you put them in all the way. Biggest issue - parts and time. Had to call the company twice to ask for missing parts, and each time they sent a box in about a week, but didn't send everything I asked for. Eventually gave up and bought the last few bolts and screws myself, and cut a couple extra boards down to size - they did end up sending a bunch of stuff I didn't need, so there were a few extra boards, and now we have some extra swings, etc. Green parts are not cedar, but "Chinese Fir" according to the half-english half-chinese invoice still tucked between some of them. As others have mentioned, wood splits very easily, and is also pretty soft. On the plus side, that also means it's lighter if you're assembling it yourself. Took a ton of time, multiple people, and even if it hadn't been for the waits for more parts it still would have been a good few days' solid work. Don't believe their assembly time! June 26, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great and my little girl loves it! Southampton arrived on two pallets. I read reviews prior to purchase and thought to myself; there is no way this simple structure could possibly take more than two qualified people eight hours to assemble. Hmmmm. I eventually call in reinforcements to assist, as I couldn’t have my 4yr old daughter without a playground christmas morning. If you’re reading this and thinking you can do better… give it a shot. We had 44 total man hours into the project. Its also important to note that all three of us have construction/industrial backgrounds. Just minutes before the sun came up Christmas morning and still didn’t complete project. Almost complete, only lacking curly slide. I would strongly suggest to all capable of very basic stick framing to purchase slides, swings, and rock thingeys and build your own setup without using this kit. We spent hours drilling and bolting cheap cedar/yellow pine 1x3 together to create what should have been a simple 4x4. Why not just send a 4x4 the correct length instead of shipping a box full of “headache?” Stick frame your own with treated lumber and purchased slide/swing components will likely be a wash on the cost side, but the structure will go up much faster and surely more rigid. Structurally, its fine for a child. Christmas morning my little girl wanted me to follow her up the rock wall but quickly aborted mission when I heard support panels crackle when carrying my body weight(170lbs). December 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by beautiful swing set! Well besides the fact that it took us way more than the 8 to 12 hours to assemble it. We love it. My daughter and her friends are enjoying it. June 30, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good product Overall this is a pretty good product. The wood is a soft pine so you really need to pre-drill some of the holes. It is not a one day project. I pre-built as many pieces as I could in the garage. One note is that you build the roof on the ground and then have to lift it to the top of the building to attach it. It's not heavy just a big piece. The instructions for attaching the tube slide on the back are incorrect. When I attached the slide the bottom was 7 inches off of the ground so I had to rebuild the back wall to make it work and it is still about 2 off the ground. Our son loves playing on it so it is worth the money but next time will buy one made of harder wood or cedar. September 10, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great playset for my kids. We got this playset on sale and Home Depot had the best price. My husband is very handy and it took him nearly 3 1/2 straight days to assemble almost entirely by himself. The wood did split a tiny bit in spots when he drilled in the screws, but he did not predrill the holes. My 2 year old loves everything about it, but will not go down the tunnel slide. And since it changes directions, it's difficult for an adult to go down it so we can't ride down it with her. However, I'm sure in a year or so she'll like going down it more. Good quality and it was delivered quickly. Happy with the purchase and hope our kids enjoy it for years to come as it was pretty pricey, especially after we added the rubber mulch. October 12, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Long Weekend After reading several reviews on building swingsets we decided to hire it out. The Home Depot installers charged us $430 based on the box instructions stating it only takes 8-12 hours. What a joke. They sent over one guy and he was smart enough to bring his son to help organize all the pieces. They worked 10 hrs Friday, 12 hours on Saturday, and 1/2 day on Sunday. All the pieces had to be pre-drilled or the wood would split. The installer said he never wants to build another swingset after this one. He did the math and barely got paid for the 28 hours of work after everyone got their cut. I think the next swingset they quote will be a lot higher. Overall, its a very solid swingset and my kids love it. May 13, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by After reading previous reviews, I knew this was going to be a royal pain to put together. It was. Took about a week with evening helpers. The wood is almost like balsa! Very soft and splits easily. A must to predrill holes before putting screws in. All the parts were there, with quite a bit of hardware left over. Instructions were ok at best. I agree with most previous reviews that it was worth it when it was finished. The grandkids absolutely love it. May 1, 2011
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The kids love everything about this playset! Took 3 men and 10 hours to build. Instead of sending 4x4's or 2x4's, the kit included hundreds of small pieces that had to be measured and then screwed together to make the necessary 4x4's etc. None of the pieces were labeled - we were lucky that all those involved are in the construction business and knew how to use a tape!!!! Overall, the kids (11, 4 yr triplets, & 3) love the "playground"!!! So it was more then worth our time and effort April 15, 2012
