What type of dimmer to buy for 40W EQUIVALENT SOFT WHITE (2700K) B10 DIMMABLE LED LIGHT BULB?
Asked by: Bill
Most new dimmers should specify what types of bulbs they support. Find one that supports LED bulbs or works for all bulb types.

Customer Reviews

40W Equivalent Soft White B10 Dimmable LED Light Bulb (2-Pack) is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very bright, very low power I needed an energy-efficient replacement for the four candelabra bulbs in an overhead light fixture. I have used CFL bulbs for several years, but they take a long time to warm up to full brightness, their color is too yellow, they are not dimmable and they are not as bright as I would like. These new bulbs remedy all of those problems. I was concerned about the length of the bulbs, but they did just fit into my fixture. The bulbs also emit light evenly in all directions, unlike some other bulbs I have seen reviewed. Although relatively expensive, these bulbs are a better value than the incandescent and fluorescent alternatives. Having just received and installed, I can only hope that they last a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great candelabra LED for outdoor light fixtures I bought these to put in my outside lights that are on a timer to run all night. They should save a good bit of electricity over standard bulbs. The color is accurate at 2700k and all 6 bulbs I bought are visually the same color. The light output is pleasant, not harsh pinpoints of light like what I am replacing. I actually was replacing some cheap LEDs I already had in there that have begun to fail. I'm sure it was the electronics and not the LEDs on those bulbs failing. These bulbs seem to be much better built, so I'm hoping they will provide the long life necessary to make back the up-front investment. They aren't super bright, but any brighter would be too much light from the pole light coming into the upstairs windows. Not sure I'd put these on a ceiling fan or something similar indoors if I wanted a bright room from just that light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite candelabra bulb so far We have a variety of beautiful clear-glass fixtures that unfortunately all take candelabra bulbs. For nearly two years, I’ve been searching for good, bright LED candelabra bulbs, without much success. These are the best I’ve found so far. I compared to some older 25-watt-replacement Philips and some new 60-watt-replacement Feits, and these are my favorite. They seem quite bright, and three bulbs are sufficient to light many of our smaller rooms. The light is very soft and even, and doesn’t cast harsh shadows like the other (clear) bulbs. The color (rated at 2700K) seems warm and neutral, compared to the pinkish Philips and the greenish Feits. Dimming is extremely smooth, and I only get a slight flicker at very low levels. I can’t detect any hum at low levels, a problem with some bulbs. Close up, the bulb design is very smooth and clean, without any heat sink fins. Best of all, the TCPs are the cheapest of the three when you get them in a 2-pack. I’ll definitely be buying more of these, and hoping that TCP comes out with a brighter model soon for our larger rooms!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great so far I just bought these for the front porch lights- i had 60 W bulbs but they stay on 10-12 hours a day so i thought it was a great place to add more LEDs (i'm up to 30, most are Cree which I really like)- these feel very solid and i was very impressed with the light they produce. I really cannot tell the difference between a 60W incandescent and these 40W LEDs. Other reviews are strong on reliability, I hope they are right. I got 3 for 29.99 so as long as they last i feel great about the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice 40W candelabra LED I usually do not write reviews unless something is bad, but I just replaced ALL indoor bulbs in my home with LEDs, and I wished there were more reviews because some LEDs worked well and others did not. These 40W candelabra LEDs are great. I put 5 in my kitchen chandelier. I now get nicer lighting than the incandescents they replaced, all while using less energy than a single original candescent they replaced. They dim nicely too, with no flickering. They also work great in all but one of my ceiling fans that use candelabra bulbs. The reason one fan did not work well, is because it needs 60W candelabras which are not yet available in LEDs - but hopefully soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great led light bulbs I was looking to replace the incandescent light bulbs for the vanity in my bathroom with led ones. These light bulbs are superbly bright and very energy efficient. I will definitely buy more of these in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from keep the design in mind So these bulbs work pretty well, the design features an upward pointing LED with a clear diffuser to spread the light down and to the sides. Keep in mind that the base covers up to the widest part of the bottom of the bulb so there is really a limited amount of light that is actually going downwards (when the bulb is mounted in the upwards direction). So most of the light will be directed up to the ceiling. The chandelier I have them mounted on hang low from a tall white ceiling, so the amount of light that ends up diffusing from the actual bulb and reflecting from the ceiling before falling on the table below is not very bright. It works fine for me, but I just wanted to point this out. On the upside, these can be gotten for cheap enough that they pay for themselves after a couple of years in savings (at least this is true in my situation).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from TCP 5-Watt (40W) Soft White (2700K) Deco LED Bulb (2-Pack) I bought these to replace two 40 watt bulbs in a ceiling fan that are completely enclosed in a frosted glass lighting fixture and have very little ventilation. My main reason was to eliminate heat build up if I left the light on for any period of time. The LED bulbs are cool running and I was surprised that they are brighter than the incandescent bulbs they replaced even though they are 2700k. The side benefit is that they only use 10 watts for two bulbs instead of 80 watts and aren't affected by vibration making them ideal for a ceiling fan.
