Is this tapcon approved for use in ACQ treated lumber, for long term performance?

I need to fasten pressure treated lumber on a project. PT lumber causes fasteners to corrode if they're not coated with a coating that protects them, or they're Type 300 stainless steel. Do these tapcons come with a coating that will last in PT lumber?
Asked by: Prorooferguy60
Hi Prorooferguy60, I contacted Tapcon to get you an answer. Tapcon stated yes you can use this anchor on pressure treated lumber. Tapcon also pointed out to me the bottom section of the front of the package, where it states approved for treated lumber. Hope that answered your question.

5/16 in. x 3 in. Hex-Washer-Head Large Diameter Concrete Anchors (15-Pack) is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great anchor I used the recommended bit with my hammer drill and drilled the whole bit length. I used my impact driver and every anchor went in with no problems. I drilled the holes an inch deeper than the screw. Definitely don't use a hand ratchet your more likely to break the heads off.

I followed the direction as per instructions and having one of four anchors work. Also I used one of Tapcon drill bits. If you are not successful using this product on the first try , you can forget trying to use it s second time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tapcon for use in limestone I purchased these to install fencing to a limestone wall. I was not sure if the limestone would hold well and bought some epoxy designed for use in stone. The Tapcon worked great and I'll save the epoxy for another project.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Heads come off Used the tapcon drill bit recommended. The bit chewed through the concrete with ease. I put the anchors in manually with a ratchet. 4 out of 9 had the heads come off with less than a 1/2 inch to go. It's going to be a real pain to get them out. Not happy at all

I drilled one inch deeper than the screw, cleaned the holes, and had bent anchors and broken heads. They failed with about 3/4" to go. These are garbage.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent anchor when installed correctly These anchors were hit-and-miss for me. The Tapcon drill bit worked beautifully, but I attempted to drive the first of four anchors with a manual ratchet after reading the instructions provided with the anchor. As other reviewers stated, the head broke off with about an inch of anchor left to drive. Using an impact driver yielded much better results on two of the remaining anchors. The last anchor encountered some embedded aggregate and would not drive past it. Overall, I would have been 75% successful had I used the impact driver from the beginning. I would probably stick with wedge anchors or redheads for the next job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Break and bend easy. poor quality I tried installing these screws with bad results and even used their brand of drill bit and cleaned the holes well. One of the screws worked, the others either bent/deformed while going into the hole or broke halfway down! I can't get those out now. Complete garbage and I would not recommend purchasing these screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use anchors Tapcon screws are so much easier than other types of concrete anchors. Tapcon provides a special drill bit for the installation, They also provide an installation tool that allows you to screw in tapcon screws without removing the drill bit from the drill. You do need a hammer drill to make the drilling easy. I was able to install a lot of shelving in my garage with little effort. I would not use anything but Tapcon in the future.
