Answer:
It should work fine as long as the tiles are smooth with no broken pieces. I installed mine over plywood that had chunks of wood taken out in spots. I just filled in with wood filler and sanded smooth.

Answer:
As long as the surface you are putting it on is smooth it should work. Use leveling compound if you need to. What you are doing with this product is creating one solid piece that will float (which means it's not glued to the floor. The pieces glue to each other. I've installed them on subfloor and plan to use them over vinyl tile in other rooms. They are really easy to work with and look great.

i don't know - i suppose it depends upon how tightly they are adhering to floor - i put over ceramic tile but, of course, that doesn't move - check you-tube - there are dozens of videos and responses on the experiences with this flooring - and all are very positive -i can't say enough good about it - good luck

It should work fine, assuming the vinyl tiles are secure to the current subflooring. I have installed it over commercial floor tiles attached to cement with no issues whatsoever.

Measure the length and width of your room and multiple them. For example, if your room is 11.5 feet long and 12.5 feet wide. Just multiply 11.5 X 12.5=143.75 sq. ft.

Measure the length and the width of your room in inches and multiply it. Then divide that number by 144. The remainder is the square footage.

Measure two sides and multiply. If it's an irregular space break it down into squares and rectangles. There are math websites that will walk you through it if you are still unsure.

Answer:
The surface must be flat and smooth to install any floor.use leveling compound and or sanding as needed. If there are significant defects bigger than can be handled by those measures you may need to replace some wood. It doesn't matter if it's painted or not as long as it is flat, smooth and not compromised by dryrot etc.

Answer:
Yes it can. You want the floor underneath to be as level and smooth as possible. It doesn't actually connect to the floor below, its a floating floor, planks connect to each other and just lay above the subfloor so paint or whatever is under it will not matter. You just want it to be level and smooth to place this flooring over.

Yes, as long as the paint is not to thick. It does not stick to the floor. The smoother the subfloor the smoother the finished floor will be when completed.

Answer:
absolutely, that is the perfect application for this flooring. Just make sure there are no nails sticking up and the tolernace level or floor flatness is 3/16” over 8’. Also, make sure the room is clean of any dirt or dust that might stick to the grip strip and contaminate the adhesive. The product needs to be acclimated in the temperature controlled room for 48 hours prior to install.

I had some over-spray from my walls being painted and used a putty knife to remove most of the rough material from the slab. Just want to ensure there isn't any really big cracks or holes in the slab that could cause moisture or damage the vapor barrier during install. The flooring is very forgiving in the sense that it doesn't have to be a perfectly smooth slab for installation. I did have some large gouges in my slab and used some smoothing grout to repair them prior to install. As long as the paint spots don't causes "humps" I would just sand them down a bit and install your vapor barrier. I used a the foam barrier on top of the 6mm vapor barrier and it really made a difference in the end. Much more cushion and floor sound was reduced. Hope this helps out. Read Less

I would try to keep the floor as smooth as possible, but I couldn't imagine it being too much of a problem unless the paint is "caked" on there. If that were the case, I would sand it down and/or scape some off. I used Kilz sealer on my under-floor before installing the flooring. I turned out fine. (the Kilz was used as a sealer/primer for my under-flooring which was damaged by dogs peeing-TMI right?)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great! Just finished installing in our kitchen, looks great. Easy to install once you get the hang of placement, be sure to get your first edges together properly so it lays tight, trying to separate the pieces after stuck together was very tough. Also adhesive will catch dirt, pet hair, etc so try to keep the area clean. We did get some scuff marks when moving the fridge even though we used padding under it. One carton of planks had 3 broken ones but were able to use them for cut pieces. Overall very pleased with this floor. January 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Flooring We love our Allure flooring. We have had nothing but positive comments. We first did the entrance ha;; way. Every time we show our friends pictures of our flooring they love it. Most of them tell us that they want it for their home. It has made us so proud of the work we have done. It was simple to install. It was work, but the floors speak for themselves. We loved it so much and it looked so good that we did the rest of our home. The only room that was left with carpet was our grandbabies bed room. We highly recommend this flooring. October 28, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst floor ever! I have .32 cent a square foot tiles that are better quality than this. Was fairly easy to install and looks ok until the sun shines through the window and you see all the scratches...some from the 50# standard poodle (her nails are kept short) and others from what, I don't know! Have used the scotch brite pad and allure single step, removes some scratches but not enough. All of my funiture has the felt on the legs so the scratches are not from that.Only 3 adults live in the house so it's not even like I can blame it on kids. Wish I hadn't wasted my money! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product and Cost The ease of installation of this product allowed for the finished look to be that of a real wood floor that was professionally installed. The flooring installation was quicker than other types of floors and looks great when completed. November 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Product! So satisfied with TrafficMaster's Allure Vinyl Plank Flooring! I recently moved into a new home and wanted to make my basement more livable without breaking the bank. The Home Depot worker steered me toward this vinyl plank flooring and at first I thought they were really trying to promote this new product but after explaining how easy installation would be, how cost effective it was, and how durable it would be in a basement setting, I was sold. I used this in two rooms plus the hallway in my basement and it looks like real hardwood! Of course every project has it's kinks so for this one I'd say that you would need a really, REALLY good utility knife to cut the planks. I had my trusty Husky utility knife but I still needed to go over lines repeatedly to finally get the plank to break. It is also a real pain when you need to cut narrow pieces. This is why I took away a star for "Ease of Installation," otherwise, this really is a great product! October 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by I love this flooring I've used this flooring in the kitchens and bathrooms in three of my apartments with great success. It's soft under-foot and durable. Unlike sheet vinyl repairs are easy. Using a heat gun or a hair drier set on high gently heat the adhesive strip and slowly separate it. Pop in the new plank and you're done. There is one thing about this product that is extremely frustrating. I wrote to the manufacturer to no avail. The adhesive strips are shipped with no protective waxed paper strips over them. During cutting the adhesive attracts everything. It must be completely clean for the adhesive to adhere properly with no lumps or bumps. A simple peel-off strip would solve this problem. October 24, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Allure Brazilian Cherry Vinyl I was looking for an affordable flooring solution for my 8 x 10 basement landing. I found this product and thought I would give it a try. This product is fantastic, and looks great. The other reviews are correct INSTALL IS EASY. I would recommend a tape measure, strait edge to guide your cuts, a good utility knife, and a board to cut on. I did not roll this, but I walked every seam. Everyone that sees this thinks I laid a wood floor, and comments how nice it looks. July 11, 2011
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome product and very simple to install! First time installer and had no problems with installing this product. Product is darker than pictured on the website and has awesome detail. Looks like real wood flooring and much more durable. Great for high traffic areas, dogs, and children. Easy to take care of. Used a RobertsMulti-Purpose Utility Knife to score the planks and snapped carefully to obtain desired size. Was installed on top of a relatively smooth concrete slab. Used a SimpleSolutionsMoisturbloc 120 sq. ft. 12 ft. x 10 ft. 6-mil Film Vapor Barrier Underlayment on top of slab with a SimpleSolutionsSoundbloc Foam Underlayment for Laminate Flooring - Reduces Noise (102 sq. ft. Coverage) on top of that prior to laying flooring. Home Depot and various Youtube videos helped greatly with any installation questions I had. Want to have the look and feel of real wood flooring without the high cost, then this is the product for you. So, easy to install one person can do it in just a few hours. I was amazed at the ease of installation and the professional look once finished. October 31, 2012
